    Some pics from Yosemite

Had the chance to spend about a week in the Valley not too long ago. While many photo opportunities abound there, mostly clear skies, a constant haze in the Valley, and very low water conspired against me so I got a lot of decent postcard shots but nothing spectacular. Oh well, still great to spend time in one of the most beautiful places anywhere.

Lucky for me I only live 2 hours away so I'll be keeping an eye on the weather later this summer and into fall to hopefully get some clearing storms and the spectacular light that comes with it.

    Some pics.

Sunset on Half Dome and Clouds Rest.

Morning light on the E face of El Cap.

Vernal and Nevada falls from an angle most people will never see it from (unless you know people who know people).

    The Valley from Taft Point

    Yosemite Falls

Predawn shot of El Cap and Half Dome.

Full moon shot of Yosemite Falls.

    Your pictures suck.

But only because I didn't take them.
Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.

    Very nice.

I really like "Full moon shot of Yosemite Falls.".

Do you mind sharing the exposure time on that one?

Sweet pics, very much enjoy the second to last photo, the shadows & contrast bring my eye right to the prize of Half Dome.

    Thanks.

Exposure was for 2.5 minutes at f/2.8.

Also, fyi, to get the moonbow, you just have to have the moon at your back.

Love the pics. However, the one thing I would change is the way you're "framing" them with the thick black matte. I'm not sure if its just the way the pics show up here on TGR, but I think it takes away from the quality of pictures you have here.

IMHO the winner of the bunch:

Too hard to tell the difference between the Yos. Falls shots, to me. There's just nothing in it that says "Not daylight - full moon!" to me. Sorry if I offend.

...nothing, except the stars, the silky waterfall cone, and the diffused light/almost complete lack of shadows.

    I love long exposures.
