Whooo... There goes my planing for the winter into a new heading. Thanks for all the teasing beta and pics fattwins, those have really started the long-ski-tripp-cogs churning in my head. Japan just bumped Canada from the #1 spot.
So just a ?, which month do you recomend from a snow and weather point of veiw? January or February?______________________________________________
I belive it when I ski it!

Fattwins has a big lodge so, if we plan in advance, we can a big Maggot Summit. Jan or Feb are almost always good.

Going over the edge and back into town
Off the back of tsugaike the best spring lines are found there or behind.
well over 600 inches falls up there.
Maybe the longest line in Hakuba. 2900meters to 1100 meters
I love this touring spot behing tsugaike
Great first line of the tour, decided not to ski the steeper line under the cornice
Karamatsu So many lines I have yet to bag even a 1/4

What is the snowpack like in Japan? I'd image really stable just because of the fact that it's an island. But the pow looks so dry...
During the season do you even tour much? It seems like there isn't even enough pow skiers to make a dent in the inbounds terrain.

the inbounds gets dented....not as bad as back home but fat skis have played their part. the tree are still pretty sweet as is the bc when the conditions permit. ps typing drunk

^^^Fattwins, thanks for the awesome stoke!!!
I've got just enough United miles to make a round-trip, and seems they have quite a few open seats on the seattle-tokyo route. Now if I could only convince Skier666 or other traveling warriors...what's that guys name again, oh yeah- let me pull out my white crack whore rolodex. yeah, that's it- Arty50

Squirrel99 you are more than welcome to trot on down. If the weather is on its all tree skiing when it clears and settles its open biglines.
The nomads series is going to come out sometime in the fall with a hakuba, tokyo ski segment. Should be sick. Kush update on that if you can.

When you get Japan, pass on the rest of the beers available and drink Asahi Super Dry. It took me three trys to figure that one out on the plane.
Oh, and two words. Birru. Nama.

That was all I needed to know.

I know I have posted this before and it is Niigata, not Hakuba, but here is some more Japan specific stoke.
I actually have another of her mid air with her skirt flying on my PC at home. I will post it tonight if I remember.
