    Another Body Armor Thread.

I did use the search function before typing this...

Gonna suit up in plastic for the DH rides and was looking at body armor, we're gonna pull the trigger on a couple pieces of body armor and a pair of leg armor. Looking at the race face, it looks pretty as nice as any out there has anyone seen this yet?

kinda sucks the elbow pads aren't included, probably end up with Rock Gardn.

Also looking at the Rock Garden Womens specific for the lil lady I don't know why its so much cheaper than the mens.

would also buy a used large for myself if someone has something laying around.

686's new pro pressure suit is one of the best out there. But is hot as hell in that thing.

No shit...no self-respecting lax player would ever wear those.

Just picked up the azonics suit from go ride. Already tested it 2X. Works great. Very comfortable and a deal at $150

The current azonic and rockgardn are almost identical (probably from the same chinese sweat shop).....with the only difference being the rockgardn has removable elbow pads. I've got one of each and am happy with both.

Nothing I've owned from 661 ever stayed together.

this looks pretty good. lightweight, not quite as burly as others, but supposedly breathes well. any one have any experience with this?

My only complaint on the Azonic is that the shoulders are very bulky. But, all body armor looks wierd when you wear it so it probably doesn't matter.

Also, please always wear a shirt or jersey over it.

Me too. the Azonic armor rocks. Saved my ass 2x last week. One was a shoulder hit from a tree.

The azonic is REALLY comfortable and breathable too.

After such horrid results from the Azonic Z-5, I'll never go near their stuff again...regardless of how good it is. I like the looks of that Race Face jacket. Nice chest protection, and I much prefer to use my own elbow guards.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I have a 661 Pressure Suit and it fits well and has great all-around crash protection. My only gripe is that it is hot as shit by the time you put a jersey over it and have on a full face. I just can't handle it for a full day in mid-summer.

Thus, I also have a 661 Defender 2 that I wear with separate elbow pads. This set up is much less hot and more comfortable. However, my gripes with this setup is the lack of upper arm protection, which isn't too big of a deal as I've fallen quite hard with it and the hard shell shoulders can take a big hit, but my upper arm was pretty road rashed. Also, the hard shell uppers do not fit well with a camelbak...at least not for me.

I'd like to get rid of both and just get a Dainese suit or the 661 Pro Suit, alas, the resale market for used, sweat-filled pressure suits doesn't make me too confident that this will happen any time soon.

For sure and living on the east coast, you find that out pretty quickly. But when you're 6'2" and 175lbs dripping wet, they make you look funny.

yeah, i did the same thing. the stitching on mine is just about done and the padding is starting to tear and wear down, so I just picked up a new pair of each as well.

Went up a size in the leg armor from L to XL (I am right at the cutoff at 6'0") cause I have had problems with the knee cup sliding down, although, now I am worried the straps will be too long. just have to see.

also caved and bought the race face jacket. gotta go to North* this year!!!!

glad jenson has a good return policy, cause I may have bought the wrong size in the jacket as well.

    I stand corrected

I'm doing a pnw/canadia trip the first week in september. You going up this year?

Even if you don't, you should come out to tahoe and ride northstar. Some friends and I have had some influence on some design this year

bags: what happened to your z-5 armor? That's the old pinner mesh version that NOBODY liked.

Come on.....it's azonic......they switch designs and south pacific sweat shops every week.
