I took a quick one night trip to Yellowstone a few weeks back and thought I’d share some of my shots. I’m no grizzle6 (hell, I don’t even know how to put a frame with signature around my pictures), but I think some of these are OK.

I'm digging it!

Some good shots in there. The one thing I would suggest is that when you're focusing on the item in the foreground- with the background also being a subject- like in pic #2, try to make the background a little more interesting. Like in #2, I think it'd be a little better if you showed more of the mountains to the right and didn't cut them off so quickly.

I really like that Artist Paint pic too.

Ah, that is a damn good point. While concentrating on getting square to the flower and contorting myself to see through the viewfinder, I didn’t quite pick up on how I was framing the background.

I really like those shots.

And I think a lot are close the grizzle's.

There is just something about them that is lacking, that I can't quite put my finger on, that prevents them from really popping. They seem just a tad flat and off in composition but otherwise are cool pics.

It's the light. The time of day, I think. Also the camera set-up and post-processing work flow makes a huge difference as you know.

Not railing on the OP - nice pix. You put in some serious thought & effort, and it shows.

Shots taken with Canon XT with Sigma 18-50 f2.8 or Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 IS.
Light was definitely factor. I left Jackson before sunrise and wanted to get to Mammoth by mid afternoon so many shots were taken during mid-day between the two.
As for post-processing, there was little to none. I just don't know what I'm doing when it come to that. I’ve been meaning to buy 123di.com for a while now.
