Rear Axle compatibility question...and other schtuff...
So, as most probably noticed, I sold my big bike today and am in search of a new rig that can slay Keystone and such as well as pedal decently on the Front Range. If you have any input there, feel free to give 'er.
That aside, I have two sets of Deemax's (both 10X135mm rear) that I love and don't really want to part with. However, some of the new frames I've been looking at (i.e. Uzzi VPX) have 135mm rear, but call for 12mm axles. So, will my wheels work?? This is something I've never understood.
Conversely, I could just get into something like a Gran Mal and sell both my current 135s and pick up a 150.I've got more suits than Liberace, but less than Eastvailhucker.

vicious, that's another plus of the uzzi. when you order, you have a choice: 150 mm or 135 mm dropouts.
if you order the 135 mm dropout version, you'll get a set of spacer inserts that enable a 'standard' (i.e. quick release, 10 X 135) axle to work--like your dee max. it's a pretty clean design.
then, if you ever have a 12 mm X 135 rear hub, that'll fit as well (just take out the spacers in the frame dropouts).197 Katanas for sale, very low miles.
