Red face Sad news about the highlander

Well, some of you may have known him. Those that have ever visited Chamonix, or have skiied there, probablly looked up and saw tracks down "the unskiable".
Some of you may have personally known him.
He was known as Scottish Paul.
Sorry to break the news, but one of the best ski mountaineers EVER passed away a few days ago.

Paul Mcleod was parasailing off of the Augille du Midi, when the winds changed on him. He was tandoming with Pete. Both perished. They were about to do a B.A.S.E style jump, where one person releases from the tandom to free fall, then deploying his own shoot.

RIP boyz, see you on the other side

Right on, sluffhunter. Tom and I got word the day it happened from Phil Ingle. We rode the tram with Paul last year when we got the Rond with eight feet of pow after the big storm. He railed the Cosmiques in about 15 turns when no one dared consider it because it was so fresh and likely to slide. He caught Natty, Sherpa and Phil on the traverse to midstation and they had started an hour and a half ahead of us. Paul was an absolutely amazing skier and a helluva nice guy. God bless him.

Didn't know him but sad news none-the-less... I'll think about him on my first run this winter.

I read about that. What a messed-up way to go.

Condolences to all who knew either of them.

damn. shared a few trams on some sick days with him a couple years back. seemed like a genuine nice guy. i've got some helmet cam footy of his group and ours leapfrogging down the grand envers one day after a big storm. i'll be watching it tonight. my deepest sympathies to everyone that knew him well.
