flyk--how do you like the as-x for all-around trail riding? since my FXR frame weighs 8.3 lbs, and the as-x weighs 9, I'm seriously considering selling my FXR and swapping out frames.
Just found out it'll run me at least $600 w/ shipping and install to get a new rear swingarm. Fockers!
and p-tex: nice new rig!

p-tex, sweet ride. i have an attitude frame, klein all the way.
I was amazed at how light and fluffy the powdery snow was and at how the challenge never ended.

It's way different then what I was used to (SC superlight). But now that I'm getting used to the weight and the tighter geometry I'm really liking it. I haven't noticed any pedal bob, it pedals nice and smooth. The 5th element is great, in rocky and rutted stuff the back wheel is glued to the ground and it still takes bigger hits.Originally posted by Particle

I'll have to come down and ride some SLC trails with you guys and let you take a spin on it.

It's so amazing what a difference a shock can make. The Bullit climbs like a tank w/ no bob at all. It basically wheelies the whole way, but it'll get you there.Originally posted by flykdog

Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Re: Altagirl...575?
Guess I don't know quite what you mean by "rallied" but mostly the 575 has just been on XC oriented rides with a fun descent, like Bobsled or Jacobs ladder. It climbs really well and sucks up the small drops (~2') I've done at this point like they're barely there. I like that you can drop the seatpost all the way down for descents. Anyway, it'll get a more thorough testing this weekend in Moab.Originally posted by flowtron

They have them at Go-Ride (~3300 South, 400 East) if you're looking."Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"

Last time I was in SLC, I had 2 goals:
1. Ski as much as possible
2. Spend at least 30 minutes in Go-Ride drooling.
Missions accomplished.Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

04-22-2004, 12:04 PM #99Nice new bike, Altagirl... One of these days I'll have to go for more of a trailbike. The nice thing about my new Banshee Chaparral is that I could go Air/Coil and 4-6" if I like.Originally posted by altagirl
I put it in my other thread, but here's the new ride:
