Ok, seriously. Enough of this bad luck crap.

ok, car accident, whatever, shit happens, I am very thankful and now a believer in chiropractics, seriously. If you have back problems, find a good one or go see mine in boulder, amazing how much discomfort releif they provide.

Ride monday, I somehow get 2 pinch flats on 2 seperate occaisions and when fixing the tire each time, I destroy the stem. One time my pump pulled out the core, awesome. And the other time, the stem is bent and leaking. I was only carrying one spare tube, so i take a nice 1.5 mile walk before i was crossed by another rider who graciously gave me a tube to limp home on.

Ride yesterday at chimney, heading into the one techy climb section right after the first road crossing. There is a zoo in front of us, but I am happy to be out on the trail, so I sit and wait my turn. The group in front of us starts up, goes about 30 ft, stops and starts walking. I am already moving at this point, it seems that they are going make it through before I get there. Well they didn't. One person steps to the side lets me pass, I ramp up the speed moving towards the "crux" move and there is a guy walking, right in my line. I hollar up, "coming through". He turns, sees me and is still walking his bike with no intent to get the fuck out of my way. I wind up having to stop my momentum right in the middle of the techy spot. its either run this guy down and fall (whcih is what i should have done) or try to stop. Well I stopped, right at the point where i would have hit him. There was no where to go but down. I fall a good bit down and to the left. I was soooo pissed. I got tangled in my bike. I stood up, let a nice string of curses out and threw the biggest rock i knew i could pick up. Picked up my bike and walked past the group, which was now gawking at me and continued riding. BUT shit that hurt. Today, I can't clinch my left hand closed, my left forearm is swollen. I am scrapped and bruised on my left ass check, so I am leaning to the right.

enough of my bitchin, but come on now. I am tired of this shit. I need just one ride to go my way to feel like I am not cursed.

ythis sounds like my ride to the top of DV on tuesday. I get to the top and discover my rear tire is flat. No problem I take the tire off put the new tube in and go to grab my pump from my bike and FUCKKKK!!!! its not there. I ended up pushing my bike down the hill.

To make you feel better... In the last week, I have:

-Blew up one fork - it's totally fucked and stuck
-Had my backup start leaking badly
-Broke a bearing in my suspension while riding in the parking lot
    -Wrecked a wheel
    -Scratched my new handlebars
    -Broke a seatpost

    that's not bad luck.

my buddy jamie broke his wrist riding bad enough to need surgery last week. he has no insurance.

my buddy seth jumped out of a moving van a week ago, landed funny, and blew both his ACL and MCL and broke his femur head.

my buddy jim ruptured his achilies 2 weeks ago skiing and just went under the knife a couple days ago.

Not bad luck - bad (read: stupid) choice!

I have to agree with yentna on this one. Jumping out of a moving van can be filed in the unsmart things done.

I had the same issue with people standing in the trail, twice on switchbacks and one in a rocky section at Apex last week. They didn't even try to move.

Most of my bad stuff happens in groups of three. So if you believe in that you're done for a little while.

Wimp. In '92 I saw John Tomac ride his rim (just the rim- no tire at all) back to the start/finish area during a World Cup race

Yeah I saw Todd Wells win on a flat, at Greenbrier, Jermiah Bishop was closing the gap, but then he flatted also, getting passed by Eatough and Shalk
I stay up all night, I go to sleep watching dragnet
