    WTF? F'd up parking.

Was downstairs making an iced tea. Looked out the window and saw this:

Who the fuck would park like that? I can only hope they all know each other and its some sort of practical joke.

If the middle driver squeezed in after the other two cars were already there then that could be the greatest parking feat I've ever seen. Yeah, the car's a little far from the curb, but come on.

This is pretty much a daily occurance in my neighborhood. Parking is at a premium, and people will at least try to squeeze in anywhere,

I know NYC's crowded, but there's not two inches of spaceon either end of that car. Like the AD said, if he actually squeezed in there, that's amazing.

probably because he parked so far from the curb.

The car is off the curb so that it's easier to pull out.

I can only give credit to the middle car driver if he didn't touch either car. There's about an inch on both sides of the bumper so with enough patience, it can be done.

No, I don't agree. Not even Austin Powers is able to pull off such a feat.

Sometimes a little braille parking is necessary.

You don't think it's possible with like 400 passes? Hmm, I think I disagree.

Reminds me of when I lived in the bay area, and drove a 1980 Volkswagen. I'd park it anywhere, using the bumpers for what they were intended...

Reminds me of anywhere in/near Boston.
To get out of that spot the driver should follow these rules:

1.) Avoid hitting the car that was there when you initially parked.
2.) Hit the car that blocked you in as many times as humanly possible in your 41 point turn to get out.
3.) Hit the car that blocked you in as many times as you feel necessary even once you've reached a point where you could probably get out onto the street.
4.) If driver of said car notices/shows up and gives you a hard time, hit that person as many times as humanly possible.

It's understood around here, if you do that to someone you better expect some serious battle damage.

Parking by braille. What's the problem? You ever seen the bumpers on cars around NYC? A lot of people hang rubber thingies out of their trunks now so they can back into you that much harder.

I've come out of work and had less than two inches on either side with the other cars a foot further out from the curb than mine. I got out, no problem. That's when I found out just how flexible those plastic bumpers really are (except on Benz's, they crack ).

Parking by braille is the same in San Francisco as NYC. You can kiss your bumper goodbye living in SF. Oh, and parking brakes and transmissions flex several inches if they're pushed, so the car in the photo has at least 6 inches to work with.

No, I don't park like that (anymore) I got me a cool new car with a soft bumper & garage.

That's no longer strange-looking to me. One friend I regularly ride to downtown SF with frequently "creates" parking spaces behind cars that leave less than a full space between them and a driveway. They're much better off if they don't set the parking brake.

I had a '68 VW Bug that we used to bounce into tight spaces. I'd back into the space and touch the rear bumper to that car, my two buds and I would get out and literally bounce the front end (lighter than the rear in a Bug) into the space. Exit-ing would require the same move.

Strangely enough living in Boston with a Jeep Wrangler with aftermarket bumpers made people leave you plenty of room.
