TR Envers Solo and untracked 13th May '07

Powders is sick (he ate at McD's) and my other ski partners are refusing to get up early.

It snowed yesterday so today being sunny must be a ski day.

First tram at 8.10 (it was actually on time today). I get some funny looks as I step into my skis, instead of strapping on my crampons to exit the lift station.

The snow looks lovely. It's winbuffed crust on the southerly faces and corn on the easterly ones. There is a storm rolling in from italy so time to get a move on.

Only my tracks on the windbuffed

Still a few thousand feet of untouched befgore the flat lands.

The flat lands don't look too bad today

It's more rattling along the ice than skiing the slush

Time to pay the piper, a few hundred feet of ladder climbing to get to Montonvers because the sightseeeing gondola to the ice caves is out of action at the moment.

    Ok end of the line

Nice one. How was the snow/conditions on the run proper? Your photos skip from beginning to end...

Sorry to be unavailable once again during your powder day due to good conditions on the cliff faces... hopefully you're in Chamonix again next season?

    Enjoy Finale.........................

I've really been enjoying the Europe TR's. Definitely planning a trip. Those ladders look wild. Does it really get so crowded they need two ladders? On a side note the only thing I've seen comparable to those ladders was on Oahu. Hopefully these are in better shape.

I nominate you as having the highest quality to quantity of pics. Scenics are nice, but doing these with all your gear takes the cake.
