cali surf road trip: Sanfran-San diego
I'm making a road trip from the bay down to san diego next week and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations of spots not to miss. I have friends in santa cruz, santa barbara, and san diego and wont have any problems in those areas. But I have a huge gap from monterey to santa barbara with no idea where to surf or if the spots there worth the stop. anyways thanks for the beta

Hazard Canyon, just south of Morro Bay is good when it receives a swell.
Then there's Jalama which is before Santa Barbara. It's actually in north SB county. But you have to get it early before the wind gets on it.
Anyway, it sounds like a great vacationLast edited by SkiTopanga; 05-04-2007 at 10:51 AM.

Beyond Santa Barbara it's mostly mediocre beach breaks in the Central Coast area. Some stand outs may be Pismo Beach Pier or Santa Rosa Creek in Cambria.

surf was pretty shitty and all I got to surf was beach breaks. a bit of a bum out but I did pick up a pretty new 6' 3" watercooled on the cheap that made the most of it
