Question about Wax --->
So my spats are SUPER old and SUPER beatup....the bases have never been ground or anything and are not very smooth.
I dont know what I am doing wrong, maybe using too much wax, but the wax never stays on my skis anymore....after like 2 runs on a pow day its as if I didnt put any wax on and its all cloudy and flaky and shit...
bottom line I need to get some new pow boards for next year...

It would help to know how you are applying the wax to determine if you are doing something wrong. It sounds like your bases could use a grind to open up the pores. What type of wax are you using?

sounds like you need to get them ground or at least brush them with a brass brush.
skiing them for so long might have "work hardened" the base's surface and closed the pores.
and im sure you know about the praxis deal
200$ down now, 200$ in fall and you got yourself some new pow sticks.
