Schweet. I still love the old 85sq in raquets, hence my prince graphite usage. That 6.0 Pro Staff was my secondary stick of choice. Nice Fischer. After I saw Becker practice with one of those, I bought the Vacuum Pro. Still looking for Lotto shoes though

Nice quiver bossass - I used the same 4 Head Prestige rackets (mid) for my 4 seasons of college tennis and i have no interest in trying anything new now that my competitive career is over.......love those things

Looking forward to getting back on the courts this spring though......not gonna be the same without the team but i'm sure i could find a league.......

How often do you play bossass?

For you and I to play tennis, we would first need to erect a net along the Mississippi River and use some VERY over-sized racquets.

Prince Graphite II? The shop here in town still sells em. I went in to get some practice balls while getting back into the sport a couple years ago and was suprised to see them hanging on the wall, brand new, for sale. Not cheap either!

The graphite II were the second iteration but are still a good find, especially new. They were a bit more rounded on the edges. Surprising that they have them brand new.

So, any Seattlites wanna play tennis this summer?

Not often enough. Pretty much I hit around with my GF. To her credit, she's improved greatly and as long as I hit to her, I can pretty much swing as hard as I want. Once or twice a summer, a guy I went to HS with who lives in Vancouver, WA comes down to PDX and we are pretty evenly matched. It's sweet though, cause I usually beat him now, where it was the other way around in HS. Somehow I got better, even though I play way less. I think it was a mental thing. I'd like to get in a league. I think a tennis center here does a 4.0+ walk-in thing once a week. I don't know what my rating is, but based on the descriptions, I'd say I'm a 4.0-5.0.

The best part of tennis is the court. Take down the nets and play street hockey. I really suck at all racket sports.

Christ, I can't stop buying tennis rackets. Another SV PS 6.0 and a vintage Head TX Professional. The original Head Prestige 600.

I have a pretty extensive wooden racquet collection. I have pretty much all of the Davis line. This morning, I hit with pair of Davis Classic III's for about an hour. Both are in perfect condition with zero rash anywhere.

The down side is the hard leather grips ripped the shit out of my callous.

The upside is that when I return to playing with my regular racquets, I am about 10 times sharper than I had been.

The Price Precision Mono was based on that platform. I recall when Connors started sporting those. Of course because they are wood, you are loosing some performance (although I could argue that the sweet spot on a wooden racquet is better than most contemps), but don't you feel a lack of stability in those?

I will stick to what I believe is the perfect medium of old and new--85 square inches of eighties graphite goodness.

    Yes. Beginning in roughly 1986.

    PRESTIGE (midsize version):
    -TXP pro
    - Prestige pro brown euro (AMF HEAD on buttcap) first version heavier (used by many ATP players before PC600)
    - Prestige pro brown euro later version, 10 gram lighter on average

    - Red prestige pro made in USA

    - Brown/red prestige pro 600 (used by many ATP players before PC600)
    - Prestige 600 first release (stiffer)
    - Prestige 600 later release (constant beam, classic flex)
    - Prestige 600 with lime green cap
    - Pc 600 (made in AUstria printed on side beam, bar code label sticker on side)
    - PC600 (made in AUstria above handle) stiffer than the first version
-PC600 designed in Austria with brown butt cap
    - PC600 designed in Austria with hologram buttcap
    - PC600 Teeniswarehosue version with hologram buttcap
    -Classic mid
    - i prestige heavier spec
    - i prestige lighter spec
    - LM prestige
    - Flexpoint prestige

Then on Prestige tour with suspension grip:
    - Trysis 300 made in Austria
    - Prestige tour 300 trisys system (made in AUstria printe on side beam)
    - Prestige tour 600 (made in Austria printed on side beam)
    - Prestige tour (made in Austria printed above handle)
    - Prestige tour 600 designed in Austria

Anything made in Austria or USA is desirable. The "designed in Austria" prestiges are also good. Steer clear of the gimmicky Liquidmetal (LM) or Flexpoint prestiges. But, the iPrestige is often said to be the best "modern" prestige. I just got my hands on a TXP and I have three of the Prestige Pro Brown/Red.

boss are you saying that you think a better all around raquett was made roughly 10-15 years ago........thats when i played the most of my tennis.....and like i said i was happy to find the prince graphite 1 and cts.....although i played mostly with a wilson hammer 5.2 classic(purple not skunk color)...i haven't played with any of the new technology, is it any better or does a true mid-sized(95ish and not a wide)beat out the new stuff
whatever I feel like i what to do!

    IMHO, yes.

By the way, any mag parents that have kids starting to learn tennis, get a wooden racket in their hands ASAP and switch to contemporary after a few years.

heads are now made in china
as far as LM or FXP Prestiges, my GM plays with a couple different midsize racquets. His favorites being LM and FXP prestiges. also nTour 90, and now the new Kpower 90.
Not being very coordinated, or a very good tennis player, It's hard for me to play with anything less than 100 sq. inches. That doesn't mean I like light, powerful racquets, reletively speaking, but low 10's high 9's head light.
    No longer stuck.

Ooooooh, I really want to learn to string. It's the shop tech inside me. Let me know how it goes. How did you decide on the Klipper model? You don't live in Portland, do you?
