Thread: Little reasons that riding makes me happy

Riding a crusher climb for the first time in a season and thinking, "that's not as bad as I remember it."

Riding a worm-burner descent for the first time in a season and thinking, "that was faster than I remember it."

Realizing that you have the perfect bike with the perfect setup for where you ride is also a good feeling.

'Cause even a short mountain bike ride makes a shitty day a good day.

Getting a SID XX and Bontrager Race Lite wheelset with Bontrager XR2 tubeless team issue tires for $600 makes me very very happy.

It gives me my fix when there is no pow to ski.

Because today I saw a moose next to the trail.

The fact that this thread made me get off my butt and go for a short 50min ride......

Took the new (to me) bike out for a christening on Hall Ranch today. Smiling ever since.

Women riding roadies in the opposite direction as me with their jerseys zipped down to their navels...and they're in the drops...

Also, today I ran over a fish on a stream crossing, flipped it off my leg and onto the bank. It managed to flop back into the water before I put it in my pack for dinner but I didn't even know that was possible. Made me happy.

I finally got to ride Dirt Merchant this weekend. Arty like. Arty like very much.

Lunch rides

Hitting the trail hard after work and getting back to the car right after the sun dips behind the mountains. It makes a shitty week melt away.

Going over the bars at 30mph with only a scraped up ankle and a big grin makes me happy today.

Did that today, and it was awesome.

Finally, riding in the high country and killing that 3 mile climb faster than last year.

endorphins and adrenaline work really well with THC.

i totally got back into riding this year. lot of good stoke on the 'sprockets'. actually, riding my bike more aggressively. trying to keep my knees close to the frame and my shoulders level. using core strength which hurts like hell, but also lets me tip the bike over and slarve through turns with grin inducing speeds. keep bringing the stoke y'all.

edit:i'll be looking to buy a recent, size medium Trance X1, EX9, Blur LT, or any other worthy 5 inch trail bike you have. this won' t be till around thanksgiving, thanks!

There's just something about grinding it out, working up a good sweat, getting into a rhythm and majesty of the mountains; the peace, the tranquility, not being a desk jockey in a cube farm. And out there; the drive home from the various trailheads are pretty spectacular.

Finally cleaning everything on my regular ride, even that uphill log that is up to my knee.
