Martin Sexton
I have been listening to him for years, and will finally actually be in the same town as he is for the first time ever.
I recommend everyone get Live Wide Open, and try to see him as soon as possible..
his new album Seeds is also pretty awesome

He's playing Salt Lake on April 25th, at the Depot. Skiguide and I will be there. Seen him 3 times...always a good show.

I think Josh Rouse is a world better live.
perhaps it was the crowd.
A bunch of Bridge & Tunnel folks that fell in love with (and to) Martin in College a few years back.
Nokia is a cool venue, good sound and just a big theatre area with the bars outside so all the drinkers & chatters dont f up the show.
it is cool that he does his songs totally different every time (studio v. live album v. this show)
I think I would go see him again, but not sure @ $45 a ticket after all the charges & sodomy

You think? I don't like how the upper part of the floor isn't pitched- it makes it pretty hard to see if you don't fight your way to the front. Of course, 1. I was there for a My Morning Jacket show during CMJ, and it was ridiculously packed, and 2. I'm not built like a brick shithouse and my crowd-bullying abilities are therefore limited.

I like Sexton playing guitar for Don Henley. I'd be able to say that sincerely if Sexton had been able to stick his guitar down Henley's throat.
(He really did back Henley on at least one album.)[quote][//quote]
