ACL doc in SLC
Tore my ACL skiing last week. Clean tear, no other damage. No pain after injury, full ROM that night, very little swelling, and back to spinning and swimming the next day. I'm looking at surgery as I can't deal with not being able to ski hard or adventure race. Currently scheduled with Dr Andrew Cooper, but was wondering if anyone had other suggestions? Has anyone had Dr Cooper do their ACL reconstruction? Thoughts on Dr Mark Scholl?
Thanks a mil.

search of the forum resulted in 1 doc recommendation for SLC. Called and can't get an appointment for a month.
More specifically, I am looking for feedback from anyone who has seen Dr Cooper or Dr Scholl.

Gordon at Alta View Sports Medicine or West at TOSH, or Cooley in PC seem to be pretty typical and solid docs. Sorry, don't have any experience with the names you listed.
Gordon did my ACL/meniscus cleanup, he was okay.

Dr. Gordon at Alta View did one of my knee scopes as well as my elbow surgery last year. This May he's going to do a TTT on my left leg. He's been great to work with so far.......

I understand Dr Patrick Griess is the man.

I've seen both Greis and Burks (they're partners at the University Orthopaedic Centre) for my bilateral chronic knee injuries. As a professional colleague (though not in the Ortho Surgery realm) I trust their judgment implicitly, even though I haven't gone under the knife (yet). Both have excellent resumes, great experience with track records to match, and accolades from their Orthopaedic peers. I've also heard very good things about Rosenberg, who I imagine is intimately familiar with skiing injury and rehabilitation - his son Andy is a top skier on the Tele Freeskiing circuit and co-founder of the PowderWhores, FWIW.
