Baker / Crystal , pleaze check white courtesy phone
Okay, so I'm taking some extra days off this week to run up some more vert. in the PacNW. Winter Storm Advisory was posted this morning for the Cascades... (anti-jinx..)
National Weather Service Forecast - West Slopes Central Cascades and Passes Winter Storm Warning for West Slopes Central and Northern Cascades and Passes
(up to 2 feet possible by Friday with more in forecast)
Baker peoples, what's it look like up North?
Anyone at Crystal or Baker for Thursday or Friday?
Also debating a road trip to Red if anyone up for a 7hr. drive

It was dumping here last year when we left for the BC summit

Well, its snowing pretty good up at Baker and supposedly we've got this convergence zone thingy from Vancouver Island going on right now, which should boost snowfall quite a bit. Tomorrow (Thurs) looks super sweet! They are saying it might warm up some on Friday, which could mean it will suck or just get heavy. NOAA says it will probably rain on Saturday, and then back to snow on Sunday, so we'll see.
I'll be at Baker Thursday for sure, and possibly Friday. If you want to come up tomorrow, I'll give you the special tour...

Crustal's siren's cry is pulling the boat toward the rocks for Friday.
edit: dumb tall grey toque, red jacket, black pants, likely in Chin Nook exp line early for first chairs, likely lapping chair 6 thereafter unless I hook up with some bc kooks.Last edited by Buster Highmen; 03-03-2004 at 01:06 PM.

Baker Boy,
Sounds good- pencil me in for tomorrow. I'll have all the avy gear with me, too (except crampons). Blue Helly/Gray Pants/Black Helmet/and B'3's.
Sammie/Pollard, how about you calling off from school for this one? Anyone else?
Post or PM with meeting specs. I'll be driving up from Seattle and can be at Baker for Tip-Off.

Well Squirrel, we aren't actually headed up Mt. Baker proper, so you won't really need crampons anyhow.
I'll be in the line out of the base lodge at chair 7 sometime before 9 am, when the chairs start spinning. If I don't run into you then, have your radio on channel 5-4.OOOOOOOHHHH, I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!

Check that. 5-4. I imagine quite a few treks up the bootpack on the Arm? Had a preview of that in January and it was epic. I'll look for ya in line off chair 7. I'll try to get there by 8:30 and make my way into the lineup by 8:45.
Hey, what color jacket am I looking for?

03-03-2004, 05:09 PM #11Well, if it kicks ass, there's not much need to go out on the arm, so we'll see.Originally posted by Squirrel99

Any guess as to when the avy danger will be lowest? It's quite high as a prediction for tomorrow at the pass, I am trying to figure which day is the best for getting in versus out of bounds.

Well, if it continues to dump, I might see you over at 4.5 then? I think that's the lift you hike up the catwalk from the road to?
Cool. I'm looking for spyderman tomorrow. Baker kicks ass.
