Torn, Protruding Lumbar Disk
Hi, I am in college Army ROTC, will be getting my commision in 3 more years, and a really good friend of mine (who is in ROTC with me) just found out he has a torn protruding lumbar disk and has to see an ortho to get it fixed. Now im just ground pounding grunt who knows jack shit about things like this except that his career in the army could already be over. What i would like to know is: what are his chances of making a full 110% recovery from this surgery/injury? Any feed back would be nice.

have your friend look into epidural injections to releive some of the swelling around the injury.
