The Brighton Long Underwear incident is solved..
A few years back, I'm in the locker room at Brighton with a friend who had a locker, we are changing up after the day, slip the shell pants off, leave the long johns on and put the jeans on. This middle-aged lady gets bent out oF shape at the sight of my long johns. Couldn't figure out why, I mean long j's are a common sight in a ski changing area..Never figured out why till this weekend I'm reading Krakauer's new book about the Mormon murders and he mentioned about their "Sacred long underwear" that no one is to see and they wear - the light went on - She musta been a Mormon and didn't want to see my long j's!
Anyone know of this?

Dude, the lady was probably a freak, I am LDS and wear the said "sacred undies" I change all the time in the gym locker room and it is no biggie. And might I suggest Krauker is not a good source of what is "sacred" to mormons
"dad, do Unicorns poop."

Aren't the sacred undies called "the garment"? Or is that not true?
How about the pants that button on the side? Do Mormons have to wear them? If that's true, is it also true that front-closing pants are called "fornication pants"? And what's up with the white salamander?
I'm not trying to make fun of Mormons, these are just some things that I have heard about. In the long run, we're all dead.- John Maynard Keynes

A friend of mine, who was raised Mormon, told me that as a child he used to get grossed out by the sight of his parents "garments" on the bathroom floor.
They both wore the "long john" type (there are serveral different cuts to choose from) and he said it always seemed like they had shed their skin. He's a bit excentric to say the least.

Is this something men and women wear, or just men?

03-02-2004, 10:55 AM #13Some ppl are just plain uptight, esp. older American women (IMHO). Once I was sitting in a women's only steam room, naked of course, when a mother and teenage daughter came in wearing their bathing suits. There were NO coed facilities in this club so it's not like they'd come from a pool or something and all I could think was "how uncomfortable."Originally posted by DaveTV

This is very interesting
I'm hoping we get and answer from Iceman’s question
and I hope we get answers, I want answers dammit!!
why cant I drink more than a liter of beer at a time?
too much value?
is this just new a way for the garment clad theocracy to make more money ?
or is that obvious and I'm stupid for drinking 3.2 beer!!!!!
until we do.... what about the Mormon South Park episode??
Points on their own sitting way up high

03-02-2004, 11:04 AM #15It ain't just older women. I had a similar experience at Strawberry Hot Springs near Steamboat a couple weeks ago. My group (all men) went up to the springs at night when clothing is optional. About half the group didn't bring swimsuits. The other half thought we were strange! OK, it is coed, but it is pitch freaking black there at night! Why on earth would you need to wear a bathing suit?Originally posted by KQ

I was hardly naked, I was just as covered as I am right now..it was a weird incident, as she was clear across the room and chose to make an issue out of it - my friend had sweat pants under his when he shed his ski pants, somehow THAT was acceptable to her and the long j's weren't - too weird..

Interesting stuff about the holy underwear. The open crotch is a nice touch.
I think "Temple Garment" would make a great name for a band!

Aiight, the person(s) who outed the "Holy Underwear" are in such deep Mormon shit right now.
Somebody here in DC succeeded in sneaking into the big Mormon Temple once. They immediately gutted and refurbished it, then added a security system that would rival San Quentin's.
WTF?
Thanks to the Masonic connection your secrecy/paranoia is less of a mystery to me now.

Interesting thread. Utah is also the only state to my knowedge that has a religious reference on its state highway signs. I learned alot about Mormons in a geography class this past semester. It was interesting how much land they originally controlled and how they went about thier expansion.
