    Smile Vertigo Skiing

I find it to be one of the smoothest visual and mental sensations I can achieve on skis.

I truly enjoy vertigo skiing: Making turns on open slopes above treeline during a snowstorm with totally flat light and extremely few or no fixed visual references as at all. One can rely only on their sense of balance and sometimes, the mental imprint of the terrain shape. It is very challenging, as most of you know. I know many people do not like it.

Nearly all skiers gauge a large portion of their sense of motion and balance visually through moving snow texture and/or trees and a horizon line. Remove those things in the near whiteout of totally flat light in a snowstorm above treeline, and one is left with only the transient and dynamic senses of motion, nerves sensing vibration and the inner ear sensing acceleration. If there are visual references, they float by on their own accords as though they were clouds. If someone skis in front of you, they seem motionless despite their motion. It is a unique experience.

I just wanted to write my thoughts out... that is all.

wow...am I stoned? cool stuff. I kinda like vertigo driving like it was on I-80 back from the Utah mini.
Vertigo driving happened yesterday on Loveland pass around 2pm which was full on scary! couldn't see the road or poles on the side of the road up top due to wind but finally located the road when I saw a semi stalled in the on coming lane about 15 feet ahead of me.
"Oh yeah...and she gave me her number too!"
