Monarch Pass, CO
I ski Monarch Pass. I don't really have a TR for you but here are some shots of the season so far. I am not really much of a photog either. I like Monarch Pass. Maybe because we like what we know but I have fun up there. It is windy. The vertical is short. But I have a good time. Most of my skiing is done in the BC and early in the morning. I have two little kids so that is what I do to keep the stoke alive...
this is a line I call the Island Chute. With recent dry spells between dumps we have been trying to beat down each little storm to keep this skiing well all season.
this is looking down at the same line before dropping in.
here is my friend Dave making a turn in the middle of the Island Chute.
here is my wife skiing some pow on Elation Ridge after a recent dump. I will not be offering any photos of her in any less than she is wearing in this photo. I realize this will cost me on this board but I am way more afraid of her then you all.
I have been lurking on this board for a little while. This is a cool spot. Given recent events I have been really impressed with this community's response. I look forward to making a small contribution.Last edited by Harv; 02-13-2007 at 11:26 AM.

I would love to explore that area. Whenever I'm around Monarch Pass, I see alot of great tracks.
Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.

Excellent. I'm pretty sure I know where that line is...I've only skied the chute proper once, last season, when conditions were good and stable. Seemed like an avy waiting to happen in less than excellent stability, to me, but sounds like you deem it good to go regularly? (Not questioning your judgment...just wanting to get a better sense from a local).
Definitely a great line...

[QUOTE][Nice work, Harv. We definatly need to meet up & make some turns.
I need to get away from that lazy mans chairlift thingy-ma-bob and it's associated hardpack and get out in the goods. Maybe what THoar's sayin' would work out good.
/QUOTE]
for sure, plans in the works if you want in.
Is that one of your wife in Snowstake?

right on. thanks for the kind words.
definitely not my first post. like a lot of people that stumble on to this site I was JONG'd (deservedly) for posting too quickly without searching and the like.
All I was saying was that I have replied to posts and posted some stuff but mostly lurked and I started to "get" this site and I think it is a cool place and here are some pics....
