Several years ago I did a work stint where I commuted from CA and worked in Summit County. In discussing CA vs. CO skiing, a few of the CO dudes raved about the Gore Range. You've confirmed what those guys kept talking about. Great TR, again.

Fingers crossed for you. You're probably alright since so much of it is pure snowmelt at this point.

No water. That's not a smart move. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but I don't think you know what you're doing out there. You need to tag along with some more experienced people for a while.

Agreed, that iskibc guy really has no experience and really shouldn't even be out the in mountains.

That would be a start. I grew up in Maine where everyone learns not to make those sorts of mistakes. I bet iskibc grew up in Texas or Florida.

Hey, I grew up 10 miles from you.

Everyone makes mistakes. I forgot some water and food, and I dealt with it. I knew how far I could push it before getting into some sort of danger.

I was just giving you shit. Gotta capitalize on the opportunity when it's there.

    a) Who am I to judge? Gosh, I've definitely made my share of mistakes (like thinking everyone would know I was joking )
    b) Who am I to judge someone who has more experience than I'll probably ever have?

No, what an asshole, eh? He brought this big 'ol spread with him and ate and drank right in front of me as I shivered in the corner of the cabin with no food or water.

I know you were just kidding, but I had to give you a little shit back.

Getting back to ME anytime soon? Think I may be heading out there early summer.

Yep, no surprise. This is why snowboarders are still banned at places like Taos and Alta. If they can't even share a little food and water, why should we share our mountains?

What were the total calories consumed for this trip? How many ounces of water did you drink and how frequently did you urinate?

110 calories from a Red Bull
140 calories from half eaten cookie found in the backseat of my truck
20 calories from the river water (20 calories come from all the floaties)
    202 calories from sandwich

    40 oz. of stream water

34 oz. of urine (out, not in )

Cannabalism was beginning to creep into the mind...

I never carry filters and seldom carry iodine. I frequently drink from mountain streams. Supposedly some guy with me got campylobacter this summer. "Some people just aren't cut out for this shit."

Way to make it happen! Looks awfully "springy" out there.
