FKNA, cool pics S99 and splitter crew of what looks like great day. 5700vt in one run don’t sound too shabby either!
You gotta love the interesting terrain the volcanoes provide too.

we were slaying the stevens b/c that day. i don't think they like poaching boarders at alpy.
as for the day... it kicked ass. the boarder buddy and i decided it was in our best interest to completely fuck ourselves over in the long run in exchange for a super duper ski line. if done properly we would only have to hike an extra half hour back to the route, but being of fuzzy minds we decided that maybe we could wrap around a couple ridges and make it back to the trail. which of course didn't happen and we had to climb back up to treeline and traverse.
but! we did ski what i consider to be powder-ish snow for the first 1,500-2,000 vert of the line and hit spine airs all the way down. and really, the goal is to be able to hike/tour for 24 hours straight. it's all just training.Last edited by Zeedashbo; 01-31-2007 at 08:55 PM.

I'll be there. Not sure when. I've heard the road is so covered in snow that they may not have it open until June.
Stood upon a mountaintop.
Walked barefoot in the Snow.

I've heard you can get to about 3-4 miles from the Snopark? That's an unconfirmed report, but also that part of the road washed out? I hope not, because that access also gets you close to Ape Canyon for epic mountain biking (whenver the snow melts this year... August?)

Does anyone know how hard it is to land a permit when they start limiting climbers?
