Augered in, forgot about the pack and skis! (you can't see them, they are attached to the back of the sled!)

My house is down in the valley, but close enough to call this my back yard...(you can see my house from the top of the biggest mt. we rode, called 10,500 or 'shoulder of Housetop'). The Yurt is owned by Jeff Young (and diane!), we had it for the 30th, 31st, and 1st...most excellent. Rendezvous backcountry yurts...they are a CLASS ACT, all the way. Highly recommended!

Click it, you won't be dissapointed. Great cube farm dream fodder. Jeff is a straight up stud...what a life!

Baldy Knoll eh? I think Particle was up there last year - but the conditions weren't as stellar as what you had.

I did Beard Mountain a few years back.(farther north) Fabulous terrain and solid locale.

Great photos mang. Looks like a perfect Holiday.

Looks good up there! Haven't been up to any of the Yurts in a couple years. Might have to check for an opening or cancellation.

W - Glad to hear you are back on your board. Great trip report. Haven't been up to Baldy a year or two. kids are great but they do make certain things difficult. Let's get in some turns sometime.

Nice pics! Looks like some good snow, need to get back up there.

We did the Plummer Canyon hut back in the early 90's when Glenn Vitucci still ran it. Glenn was our guide for the first mandatory guide day and it hooked me on backcountry skiing. It was extremely cold for our stay though with -10 for highs and -20 for lows but a bomber snowpack, which was good since we were total jongs. Brrrr... I kissed the leather boots goodbye after that.

Nice rideit! Yep I was up there last Feb...amazing terrain. Unfortunately most of it looks closer than it really is...heh. We found some goods despite crappy warm conditions. Did you sled up to the hut or make that miserable 5-mile approach? We took the gas-powered route in.

You must search deep within the TR to see the method of mobility...three of us took sleds, and TONS of gear, three others brought ultra-lite packs and skinned with the dogs. Great way to do it...Yeah, we got the goods, no-one, not even snowmobilers- had been up there in a week, and close to 30" of fresh snow. it was fan-bloody-tastic.
