Ice Queen - Best Avalanche Movie Ever?
This has got to be one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. The skiing is horrendous, and the acting is worse. You've got three idiots shooting off explosives to cause avalanches in what looks like late May while the Avalanch footage looks like mid winter. A backseat skier, who is hired to avalanche safety can't out run a avalanche intentionally set by his co-worker. He takes shelter behind a rock in the path of the avalache and survives. But two snowboarders have the time to strap onto their boards and out run avalanche that burys an entire resort.
The avalanche is caused by a crashing plane with the Ice Queen on board."It's not that she said anything that wasn't true, it's that what she did say has almost no relation to the truth." - Rubicon
"To me, believing that God will drop a giant building on Greenland is no more bat shit crazy than thinking the US government can run the healthcare industry or properly regulate the financial industry" - Downbound Train

Try out "Avalanche" it's painfully bad. Filmed in 78, and filmed around the Durango area. Lots of shots from what's now Tammaron resort/Glacier Club . Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow got suckered by some stellar agent, and fumble along for this shitstorm of a film. A couple of the patrollers at Purg were in it. They used old shots form real footage, so it's kind of peiced together, terrain doesn't match the scene, etc...
Think I'll have to rent your gem just for the ski archives.

I fell in my pool. It's kinda nice. Don't see you in here much either.
Learning the whole jack of all trades thing with the house, I'm a plumber, framer, electrician, pool guy, painter, lawn guy, and hard-wood flooring dude thus far. Trying to catch up, not quite got the tile style like yo' self yet.
Lurking along, not skiing enough. But plans for the future.
Shouldn't you be upside down somewheres by this time of year?Skiing, where my mind is even if my body isn't.

Yeah, pretty busy these days. I used to read every thread..now I read 1 in 20 and post even less.
Ha. I haven't been upside down yet this year. Too bony still. Plenty of spinning though. Hopefully a park gets built soon so I can start doing something.
Still in AZ? If you ever head to UT let me know. BTW, if you want to make some crazy money being a jack of all trades and get back to the snow you should look at UT. What happened in Phoenix a few years ago is about to happen in a decent city here. Salomon's HQ is moving there as well.

Still poolside in AZ, supposedly we may have two resorts actually open this year. Wait, actually it would have to be next year as Flag is struggling along. Got to get the inagural day in here shortly,
Wish I was too bony still, trying to get out to on snow and another trip to Taos as well, maybe one more as well later in the season, have to see what the cards look like.
SLC and surrounding area is going good, money to be made, houses to be flipped.
Not in the industry anymore but Silli-mon in Utah definitely sparks interest. Keep hearing about things here and there, but got the little family thing going need a bit more stability then the sliding on snow thng right now. GL2U.Skiing, where my mind is even if my body isn't.
