Rewiring Canon Camcorder
The camcorder is a Canon ZR40. The reason is that it is incredibly annoying to have to open my pack and press the pause button to stop and start recording when i am using my helmetcam. If anyone has ever taken one of these apart, could they tell me how complicated it would be to remove the play/pause button and reconnect a new button on a cable that could run out of my pack? Cheaper than LANC.
Thanks for any help!

probably very easy if you are good at soldering surface mount scale stuff and can put back together things which you take apart
