02-19-2004, 12:05 PM #7hey hj, I skied that mountain a couple of years ago, maybe 3, classic man, camp at the thomas lakes and enjoy the scenery. You can get about 3,000 feet of turns from the summit down to the lake!!Originally posted by homerjay

14'ers
Fellow maggot Marmot, is in the process of bagging as many of CO's fourteeners as possible this winter/spring/summer. He's done five and Sherman is on his hitlist for next weekend. I will try to get him to post his video footy on here. Dood is busy with Grad school though.

I'm down with the 14er thingy, lots of fun. This year I'm planning on trying some of these but certainly not all, depending on snowpack. I usually get about 3 or 4 in a year, you don't have to tell me I know I suck.
West face of Democrat
Mount Bross Moose Creek Gulch
South Couloir on Crestone
Castle and Conundrum - north facing couloirs
Eace Face of Huron
C Couloir on Missouri
Harvard and Columbia from Horn Fork Basin
Wetterhorn and Uncompahgre
Pervertical Sanctuary on Longs Peak (that would be a first descent!!)

There's a route on Castle peak detailed in Dawson's Colorado Backcountry Skiing that I must do. I was flipping through the book a couple weeks ago and once I saw that line, I knew it had to be done. Can't remember the name, but it must be on the E side. Awesome looking coulior.

Mt. Sneffels
Mt. Bross
Lot's of stuff in the Gore and Elk Ranges
