    Stiffest Flexon tongue

Is there a stiffer tongue than the 'Racing Flex'?
If there is nothing stiffer, are there any tricks to stiffening the boots?

    Tnut them.

add tnuts behind the side cuff screws so that they look like a Salomon Xwave 10 or falcon 19.

email me if you need a hand with this

or just order a ZC or ZI lange plug.....

I'm in the process of testing this method out. (Thanks for the tip mtnlion.) I've been able to stiffen my boots from a little bit too soft to way too stiff and now hopedully back to juuuust right. Although I haven't gotten to test the latest incarnation. TR with photos to follow.

Oh and I think that the stiffest Flexon tongue is actualy a Krypton stiff tongue. Those things are BURLY.

I have an extremely stiff tongue, I've been told they came off a plug boot from the mid 90's (by a bootfitter I showed them to). They were on a pair of boots I bought off ebay. They are very, very stiff....probably 3x to 4x stiffer than a standard "dual density" or racing flex toungue, when flexed by hand. Even with a thermoflex liner, the boot is probably in the ballpark of a 120 or 130 flex index, not soft at all, but still progressive and deep flexing. I had to put a large plastic shank on the top of mine to make them tall enough and prevent shin bang.

I've also got some more modern standard race tougues, solid yellow, that are probably about twice as stiff as the normal toungue. I think the Full Tilt top end boot is coming with a very similar toungue, from the looks of it.

If anybody knows anything about a plug version of the flexon, please let me know....I want a pair.

The stiff tongue I have isn't nearly THAT stiff and I also riveted some plastic on the top of it. Ouch!

sooo, i got the camo full tilt tongue, was thinking that this was the softer tongue and was about to order the next stiffest one, but the literature on the website makes it sound as though the camo is the stiffest tongue alongside the yellow/black. can someone shed some light on this? camo just feels a touch soft for me, but then again it was 40 degrees on the hill...

i like the tnut idea, may wait til it gets colder, see what happens..

I'm about to order the stiffest tongue that Full Tilt makes. I've been told that it's silver. Hopefully they don't mean silver camo.

Hmmm where do you see the tounges on the site? Do you just have to call and order? There are no pics or choices on the site under accessories for the tounges.

Would love to get some to mod my G-Rides.

    Any help is appreciated.

i checked out the tongues by looking at each boot model, it is not too clear which is the stiffest, the site makes it sound like the BB pro and camo have the same flex. i'm not much of a fan of the camo either, was hoping to get a black or yellow that was stiffer. i have some of the flexon silver tongues in my possesion, they feel like the exact same flex as the camo.

I saw Seth skiing in the yellow/black the other day, which had me guessing it was the stiffest tongue considering the 50 degree temperature at loveland. I noticed a pretty big difference flex-wise when at A-basin last week when the temp was 10 degrees cooler, so maybe the camo will work out. also, Larry sort of thinks (so i hear) the camo is the stiffest, and he's usually right, at least, about ski boot stuff.

I don't know what to say about that. The word I got directly from Full Tilt was "The silver toungue should be the stiffest tongue that we have."

I was under the impression that the flex 9 tongue was the stiffest, and that is was bright orange. Also, online it says that the BBpro and camo tongues were only a flex 6 on the ten scale, so who the fuck really knows

FT also said that Flex 9 was the stiffest, and that the silver was the stiffest. (I said I was looking for the 9.) That implies that the flex 9 tongue is SIlver, but who knows. Perhaps there is a mythical orange tongue out there, but that's the first I've heard of it. That would be rad...

This is hilarious. I just got off the phone with the dealer who I'm getting the tongues from. ( http://www.untracked.com/ ) The guy said essentially: FT first told me they were orange, then they changed to silver, and I just ordered them and it says that the tongues are orange.

So I have no idea what color they'll be, but they are supposed to be the stiffest.

I heard next week, but you never know. I assume that you're going home for T-day? If my 'rents lived in Utah I'd be home so often that they'd get sick of me!

Let's both hope that they are available before then. I predict some firm turns to be made in December and I'll be wanting the stiffest boot possible on those days...

I just got the flex #9 "pro stiff" boot tongues. They are orange. At first glance they do indeed appear to be 50% stiffer than the yellow/black dual density tongues. I think that they will be perfect. I'm so stoked to install these things!

    Bump!

I'm looking for some stiffer tongues for my Krypton Pros and I heard that FTs fit the KPs. Anyone know if this is true? And, I looked at untracked and saw they had the flex 9 orange but only for 8 and larger, does anyone know where I can find one to fit a 7.5 (25.5)?

    Thanks!
