A Plea to Ullr
Ullr, what have we done to displease you, oh powerful one?
You laugh at us in the Sierra, sending your bounty north to our brothers in the PNW and BC. Sure, they deserve to feel your love, and we are happy for them, silently weeping day after day as we read their epic TR's.
But what about us?
We stare longingly at the sky (and NWS discussion, the Dweeb report, NOAA long range fantasy charts and other arcane weather data) and track the jet stream, waiting, hoping, praying, and when things FINALLY look promising, you split the storms at the last minute, just before they hit the Sierra. Once again blasting those latte sipping fakers in the PNW....
My car has been washed twice in the last 10 days, I have even refrained from posting any optimistic discussions on the weather (for fear of my life from my fellow Sierra mags), have put off throwing my ski racks on...I even resisted waxing my quiver last weekend - all for you. All for you Ullr.
So we wait patiently (not really, I am about ready to go postal), knowing that in time you will return to the Sierra with one of your potent 5 day, 6 foot Sierra storms...
Until then....faithfully yours,
Freshies

yup, that and Penthouse Forums, I am on a roll today...
If things still look grim next week, who wants to road trip from Tahoe? I am down and can drive, anywhere there is snow: JH, UT, MT, CO, WA...as long as we can get there in ~ 14 hours of driving, I am frickin' there.

Actually, its OHC that we need to leave town. I am telling ya, every time he goes to Hawaii for Xmas, it dumps. Hey OHC, any chance of moving that flight up a few days?
Oh, and 'Woo, if it stays dry here, I am gonna drive to the snow, probably right before or after Xmas, so let me know if you wanna go.

i am on Aloha flight 483 to Maui exactly one week from today. you guys can thank me later... but i am sure it will start dumping just about then.
btw, surprisingly good buttery snow this morning at Alpine. at least on the upper parts of Roundhouse. a little sludgey and tricky on the bottom.... overall still fun to get day 5 in at AM.

Are you sure there isn't something in the forecast? I'm leaving on the 19th for Pittsburgh. It appears my presense has douched their outlook for snow.

i heard that sierra maggots overdid it with the contributions to ullr last year, and ended up getting this year's and last year's snow last year - that true?

Ullr is a nutless homo (apparently too much soy) that can't get it up. He is hiding Tahoe's snow in his pussy! I'm sure the one we need to plea with is Mrs. Ullr. I'm sure that Ullr isn't allowed to make any real decisions regarding anything of significance without running it through the Mrs. Ullr Committee. She's probably got that pussy whipped dildo by the balls and is the one making all of the decisions (a la Nancy Reagan, and Cheny/Rove) regarding snow allocation. That's why it is all so irratic, and moody. That's why my washed truck is still clean. ULLR IS A GIGANTIC VAGINA!
... I should know, I've been in that same boat before; only I wasn't as big a pussy.

Quickly, everyone go incinerate an old pair of skis, that should work.

Freshies,
Based on looking out the window and conditions at Alpine after 12pm today, it looks like Ullr has acknowledged your limited sacrifice and would like to see more.
(It started to snowing at Alpine just before noon today. There was around .5 inches on the car when we left at 1:30pm. I did manage to find some wind buffed goodness off of Summit without dinging the skis.

coverage is thin... and the new snow is covering the rocks so it makes them harders to see. i was up there till about 3pm. i wasn't allowed to bring my group up Summit today... but i got the unofficial 'ok' to bring the kids i am coaching, up on Summit tomorrow!
