Crested Butte
I am going to be their in really early jan. and was wondering how tracked out it gets if their hasn't been a recent storm?

depends on how recent the storm was. but id have to go with very tracked out in the well known spots, and some stashes of softies that are hidden, pretty much the same just like every single other popular resort in the US

You will be lucky if Outer Limits/North Face is open by then - early Jan.
Although things are looking promising in SW Colorado.

I was in Aspen last weekend and it was fkn good. Only problem, a lot of aspen limbs broke off when we got the big september dump and the trees still had leaves. But once they get covered up, were good to go.
CB takes a little more snow, but things are looking good this week.
