I'm looking for a good bc radio any ideas?
I want a radio capable of long ranges 15 + mi. contacting help(not to be used hopefully) and getting weather reports. Hopefully not to complex either.I don't want to have to set up a network deal either, any suggestions?

Do a search, and you can find instructions for a modification that widens the tx frequency range.sorry

you do not need a sysytem or network, but you need to know what freqs to use so you can actually talk to someone
Summit's HAM suggestion is a good one. You'll learn everything you need to know.sorry
