Here's a few from today's craziness: People getting after it up there!
Just a teaser, more tomorrow.
I told Bridger Bro, "You better get something bright, or were not gonna get paid" So he went to the thrift store and threw away six bucks on these purple tranny pants. Way to go buddy.

Dissecting the spines:

Are those water skis? Bridger Bro does the anti noodle:

P nut's buddy found the deepest turn of the year:

To be continued.
(HEY, is it fair that the daily video guy gets photo of the day? I thought he was supposed to be behind the lens!)Last edited by tone capone; 03-01-2009 at 02:33 PM.

You. All. Suck. Friday classes were a whole bunch of fun. Puking all Saturday cause I can't handle my booze was also fun. Anyone headed out today? I'll be on the ridge I spose, ask for change.

03-01-2009, 02:18 PM #1434Rough. You should have waited till Saturday night to get wasted and order Pizza, like everyone else in town did!Puking all Saturday cause I can't handle my booze was also fun.
Here are some more from Saturday.

and gratuitously slarves it up:

Sweet goodness it was!

It's getting manky in here!

a soft spot:

That was the most incredible display of powder hedonism I have ever witnessed in my life up there on Saturday. Unreal.
Good thing we tracked it all out yesterday, cause it's all manked up now!Last edited by tone capone; 03-01-2009 at 04:45 PM.

Here are a couple more from Saturday's bluebird pow fest and one from Friday morning...what a great couple of days of skiing...looks like Spring for a couple of days then hopefully more Winter.Buy the ticket...take the ride.

I was there Saturday. The chaotic mob proves that there are no friends on a powder day. It was worth it, and Saddle Peak was in mighty fine condition. I just wish I had been there Friday too.

Thursday and Friday were really that good...
Thursday was getting really fun near the end of the day when the storm started to kick up and Friday morning standing in line like cattle in a corral, but really fun day otherwise.Last edited by mtnjam; 03-03-2009 at 12:08 PM. Reason: what day is this? Is this a weekday?

I think the crowd at the lower gate was a little more manageable than the scene at the top!
A nice little shot of 4 inches of 19% snow this morning...was real nice on the High T early. A struggle to return to the base on the glue like surface below mid mountain at 11:00 am. Sounds like the long range forecast might bode well later this week and early next...we'll see...think Snow!Buy the ticket...take the ride.

The line up Saturday was crazy! I had the hole shot coming out of the top gate and starting traversing and came to a log and jumped it - the landing was dirt and I got my pole stuck in the dirt and I kept going. Shit. I turned around to get it but I had to wait for about 100 people behind me to jump off the log - with lots of scared wild looks on their faces. So I couldn't get the pole for quite a while - eventually a couple of people crashed in the landing bringing the line to a halt, and one of them got the pole for me.

I was seriously ready to die at the lineup. It's every man for himself if you are part of that situation, unless you want to wait for the first wave to clear and get like 1000th chair on a day like that. If you are a chill person, then you probably don't want to deal with the rope drop frenzy. If you are there in line then prepare for war. I thought for a second people might be civilized, but I quickly realized that I had to throw edges and elbows like everyone else! (Or cause a pileup) I seriously thought that Mild-Mannered-Wille was going to get trampled along with his $$$$$$$$$ video cam, but apparently he beat people off with that thing or something. Good work!

I've never met a liftline I couldn't tolerate at Bridger until Saturday. Was very happy I had brought my skins.

Powder Frenzy was mad today with 4" of new slush, I felt like I had klister on my bases. Must have been 100 people on the hill at 11.
I'm sort of glad I worked Saturday. People act crazy on a pow day at BB even in decent snow years.
Volkl and K2 had some of their new skis out for testing only for the shop scene. Had a chance to fondle the new Gots, wowza!

Hey guys, I'm looking for a set of look/rossi demo bindings to put on my On3p's so I can get other people out on them. http://tetongravity.com/forums/showt...22#post2288022
For people in or around Bozeman I could definitely work out a trade with some FKS 155's that are currently on them, or I can just sell them outright.

03-04-2009, 12:54 AM #1448The up side is that the sidecountry is getting skied enough for the compaction to help stability, but not so much that it doesn't get refreshed with a little snow. It's been a trade off, and there are some unfortunate issues that will never be resolved, but there is great opportunity as well.It isn't worth the cost.
As far as the rope drop frenzy, hopefully something can be worked out. As I said about the edges and elbows, I feel like trying to be the chill one in that situation is just going to cause a worse cluster fuck. Too bad that the new terrain opening up isn't ever going to spread out the crowds when it counts. I can however understand why they can't really have people over there in zero viz blower. It will probably never happen that way. I personally dislike the nose to butt ridge hike days way more than my experience at Slushmans the other day though. I'm adapting."The skis just popped me up out of the snow and I went screaming down the hill on a high better than any heroin junkie." She Ra

I just don't understand why Slushie's can't open with storms to smoothe out the flow of people, AS INTENDED. It has yet to happen. And last Friday wasn't exactly zero-viz, storm greybird, it was quite sunny - there just was no avy control being done over there, with "winds" as the excuse this time.

perhaps bb's learning also- like maybe more 'trollers needed to get things rollin for the masses sooner...? /cyberspeculationThe line up Saturday was crazy!
