Sidecountry appears to be improving rapidly. There's been many natural releases in the area this season, coupled with a REALLY thin snowpack. So up until now it hasn't been too special. I'm lookin to investigate our recent weather's contributions soon. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics so you can see for yourself.

Got lots of whoomping couple miles north of Bridger today. Saw a pretty big natural there too. 2" crust with facets above and below with all the new snow sitting on that.

Met up with some mags today at bridger, Basewelder and lexi-bell.
Sorry there were no pictures taken we were having to much fun skiing.
got first tracks after the patroller over in northwest passage and it was amazing!

oh and saturday during the clusterfuck FZ, non mag Clarf, and I skied nasal cavity for the first tracks fo the season. it was rocky but good and creamy to make some turns and cliff at the bottom.

Hope everyone else had as good a day as I did!

Hey you Ridge neocons, just be nice when you come across old, poodling cowdog on the Ridge. God knows how I make it up or down. I usually side slip the road to North Bowl and save my straight lining for that gnarly slope between the lower lodge and Grizzly Ridge. And talk about lard ass. I usually find some hot young tele chicks and have them pull and push me up. OK, that last part is actually a fantasy... Sadly the rest probably isn't too far from the truth.

Looks like a lot of fun up there lately. It is just getting better and better. I'll be up there Friday and then this weekend. I like those early mornings where a mumbling MT walks by and says things like, "I haven't had this bad of a hangover since the 80s." I'm not sure he is good at math, because that would make him like 130 or something for that to be true. I know. I had lots (and I mean lots) of hangovers in the 80s (and 70s).

corn dog, you up for Friday? You there Friday MT?

This is only kind of snow I have partaken during a weekday this winter.

    It was soft and condensed...

starting out the day with some DRCS

    launching in 5-4-3-

    takeoff

    Hangtime

    Impact

And for the record, I stopped 15 feet from the groomer. I hurt my leg so I shot photos the rest of the day.

Found a nice shoulder out of goldeylocks, thats what both of these are.

Bridger is getting better, but was way too crowded for the conditions.

Those are some cool pics Single.

Cowdog, yeah, that was a rough morning. I would have loved to meet up for some turns, but I just got back into town after an extended trip. Should be around for a while though.

almost started another thread but this was on the 1st page anyway
    ~sorry for the blown margins~

    weldrFam TR: bridger 2/9-2/23,4,5

the getting there and the getting home sucked but the in-between was pretty dang decent...

2/9 3 kids packed and ready to fly, 3 pets left in the care of 2 different neighbors
the wife workin all night the night before and somehow we were still lookin good on time, until I blew my head gasket(s) on the way to the airport.
Limped it on in and made the plane at the last boarding call, three planes later we made it to the bozone- where it happened to be dumping...

A bluebird powday with 12-13 in 24 and 7-8 overnight of nice dense stuff awaited, but it was a saturday and the entire powstarved hordes were there- they turned away cars for lack of parking by late morning. I timed my slog thru the traffic line and the ticket line and the liftlines beautifully though and found myself in the 1st wave up the late-opening highT, freshies down the rightside of exit was a great way to start the skiing part of the trip...

    skidays
2/10,NEW SNOWFALL 8" nice'n dense- coverage helper & crowds of smiles
    2/11,NEW SNOWFALL 1"
2/12,NEW SNOWFALL 2", made the vid drivin the bus thru frzn chknheds
    2/13,NEW SNOWFALL 0"
2/14,NEW SNOWFALL 7" Vday blower, many said best skiin since oct.- d'oh!
    2/15,NEW SNOWFALL 4"
    2/16,NEW SNOWFALL 1"
    2/17,NEW SNOWFALL 0"
2/18,NEW SNOWFALL 0" made the vid on bronco
2/19,NEW SNOWFALL 5" made the vid on exit, 2nd guy... turk on POVcam
    2/20,NEW SNOWFALL 0"
    2/21,NEW SNOWFALL 6"
    2/22,NEW SNOWFALL 0"
    ---
34" for the trip ain't bad I guess...

some pics... sorry again for the huge size, maybe resize later, outta time for now, (sorry no action shots...)

condo with Droute behind, love the avybomb alarmclock (though my kids usually got me up much earlier)

my girlz on the commute to the hill

    pretty morning, 2/19

    super lookin good

saw FZ, wrkn4trns& posse jump into serfoss- behind branch on right- we continued on up to exit, 2/19

    lookin down nastycliff area

heh, the director looks like a headless hiker, 2/19

killed speed early left then milked the kneil's apron, 2/19

my big girl's pic of a party at the griz, fat tire cruiserbike raffle won by clubber

Stayed at a condo up at bridger from 2/14 thru 2/21 with no internet or cell service but still met up with MT, FZ, workin4turns & saw Xpickles briefly. MY girls of 4&2 skied a lil bit most days while one of us camped out w/the 7mo old buckaroo too... so when skitime happened I blasted right up and skied with whoever I found- mostly all the same gang of yahoos as always, like travelin' back in time sometimes. Got some powfrenzy morinings and some casual 2:30 hikes, saw lots of old friends & it was nice to be thanked for bringin the snow...

FEZ- maybe next time brotha, never made it anywhere but bb
KYA- brad says hey! (we call him daymaker) he bought the house I used to rent
tye1on- yep, skied around madmike a couple afternoons, still fast as ever

Tried to leave 2/23 but after 2hrs on the plane they unloaded us blaming our cancelled flight on a "computer glitch", while we were havin a beer&food in the airport after that we saw warren miller so that was cool to chat him up...
We elected to rebook for the same flight for the next day but then Mpls got hammered so we picked up a flight to cincy where we paid to stay as close to the airport as possible (notsocheap), flew on in finally on 2/25 wearing the same clothes for the 3rd day- we're still waiting for 2 of our bags (the skistuff) to arrive home as they stayed on the original plane which took off 9.5hrs late on fri...

good times, great snow, excellent memories......

Dang, good timing on your trip back...especially given the year they've had.

It's been four years since I've been back to Bozeman in the winter..

WIth regards to MT being spancered, if thats what you guys were saying, I really don't give a shit. I don't care how good a skier someone is. Does anyone around here give any slack to Tanner Hall for anything he does? It goes both ways though, if you're fun to hang out with, and don't bring people down, then I am happy to ski with you, even if I have to wait 30 seconds a run. I'll never be a pro, so skiing is just about having fun for me. I know I'm not some ubercore shredtastical mcgnarly ripper, and I'm fine with that.

I'm pretty sick of this whole thing though. I think MT and Skid could have handled the situation a bit better, but whatever. Instead of just making thier presence known, they heckled us, so we heckled them. We could have responded better too, but whatever, fuck it.

What the fuck? You want to get us all drunk, and try and have a chinese downhill, all holding hands, down the ridge? I guess you think the best way to settle an argument is to kill everyone involved?

Well that sounds like fun. Count me in. I'll bring a sixer of something tasty, and MT and Skid are welcome to first dibs.

I hope this silly little pissing contest has run its course now, and we can all be the happy, PC, sensitive, touchy feely family that TGR ussually is.
