Tight jeans
I've tried. Really. I bought a pair of Volcom jeans that looked sweet, nice stitching, etc...and were marketed as 'relaxed fit', but even relaxed by today's standards means 'pin-legged skin tight ass huggers'. Damn you skateboarders for bringing this trend on us. I don't need ultra baggy but I just can't do it. I can't!!!

It's all about the Levi 501's.
I'll reveal my preppy surburbanite self a bit here, but American Eagle actually makes some really nice straight leg jeans. Not baggy, but not the ridiculous tapered leg shit that some people are wearing either.
For the record, the actual American Eagle cut is the Low Rise Straight Leg. They're $$$Last edited by glademaster; 10-12-2006 at 12:00 PM.

Maybe so LB, but something tells me that I can't find a pair of Lucky's for $36 like my Levi's on sale. I can't bring myself to pay more than $60 for a pair of jeans yet, I'd rather buy new ski gear or something.

Old Navy Painters Jeans. Great fit, not too baggy, not too tight, kinda boot cut.
$20.

No, this was from our own dogfunk.com. One of the perils of buying online...
I haven't tried Lucky but do agree with the American Eagle - I've had a pair for a couple years and they've been awesome.
I was just trying to be trendy I guess and try some of the brands we carry like RVCA, Element, Volcom, etc...but I guess I forgot I'm OLD now.

If, by "old," you mean over 16, then yes, you are old. We all are. It cracks me up when I see some 40-year-old dude saggin' like his nephew.
Levis never go out of style. And even if they do, they're worth almost half of what you paid to vintage clothing shops. 559 = Loose (not baggy), slightly tapered leg. 569 = Loose, lower rise, straight-ish leg. The old man's Volcom.Last edited by SponsoredByDuctTape; 10-12-2006 at 12:18 PM.

I'll agree w/ Buzz on Old Navy, though their durability is suspect, and throw in a Gap. Yeah, I said it, they always have jeans on sale, they're pretty durable and they still sell normal fitting jeans.
Lee is a pretty good bet, and they last forever.Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

They might all wear out but none seem to wear out nearly as quickly as the old navy crap.
The quality at Gap seems to be much better for only a little bit more money. I bought my first pair of carharts this summer when I was doing some carpentry work in between jobs. I got some double knee, duck wash, loose fit ones. Real comfy. I think I might get a couple more for just wearing around.
Anyone try mountain khakis?
edit: what's a muffin top? similar to a fupa?

Honestly, if you’ve done a reasonable amount of skiing your ass is going to be too big for the new skater jeans, which are marketed to pubescent boys. I’m a slender man, but my ass blew-out a pair of Andrew Reynolds slim-fits in a skate shop. I recommend Levis 505s, they’re plenty tight, yet cut for a full developed male. RVCA and Volcom make some nice dress shirts.
