Quick! What ski length for my sister?

I know that title just begs for some good ones. Here's what I know: she is about 5'6 or 5'7 and about 135#. She is 22 and was on her high school racing team but was never super aggressive. She has been skiing only 10-20 times a year the last few years and is on an 5 year old pair of dynastar carving skis. She skis 90% groomers at Stowe. The skis I'm looking at are k2 true luv 116-69-101 in 160cm and Volkl AC2 attiva 166-72-103 163cm. Would these be about right? Too long? Any rapid responses would be very helpfull as bidding time is limited. Thanks Mags!

Length sounds right, but those skis might not give her enough strength under foot if she is an ex-racer.

They sound a bit flaccid for the ex-racer. Rumor has it she likes it stiff, long, and hard. SSD may have some more info on the subject.

Hardy-har-har you wise guys.

She used to race but is not a 'racer' type skier. She skis pretty mellow, I think she was on the team as more of a social thing then for the actual racing. I think I'm going to suggest she get the Volkls.

Aren't the True Luvs the beginner/intermediate version of that sidecut? (i.e., don't the True/One/Burnin have essentially the same dimensions, but construction gets burlier?)

I'd think that both the True Luv and the AC2 are going to be noodly for her. I'd kick it up a notch.

I agree it might not be the perfect ski for her but at $375 its hard to beat. She only has 400ish to spend.

I would recommend an AC3, the AC2 is too soft for any real speed.

determining the correct ski length for women skiers is a complex and involved process that can only be effectively undertaken after a thorough and painstaking analyis of nekkid pictures of the subject in question.

Have her ski 90% of her time on groomers at Stowe nekid on 5 year old pair of dynastar carving skis and see if it helps her aggressiveness. Be sure to let her know that this will help her to progress to the next level... Nekid on a pair of Bros 100% of the time out in the wild west.
