Couple of pictures
We skied Wolf Creek and Wolf Creek Pass on Superbowl Sunday. 12" new. Not too shabby.

I hear they need about 40 square miles of untracked...
As for a trip report, I'll just say that it was a local's day so the lift tickets were half price. We did multiple laps off the knife ridge, and in the waterfall area. All good. Jumped that cornice a couple of times. I'm all excited about getting some air now that there's powder to land in. We weren't quite worn out once the lifts were done, so we drove up to the pass and skinned for one more sweet, deep gladed run.
Here's a bit that Duph wrote:
We got in the door late in the night. Wet ski stuff needed drying.
Arranged soaking things by the fireplace with football highlights playing
on TV. Looks like we missed a good one. We began skinning from a scenic
overlook on Wolf Creek Pass probably around the time that some new beer
commercial was being unveiled. The hoopla, the see-saw battle, the
flatulant horse.... We missed it all. <shrug> Somehow, skinning through
canopies of fluffed-over evergreens in total serenity on a bluebird
afternoon seemed better.
Got in a gorgeous 700 foot run through spaced out glades at sunset. Black
dog loved it. Jumped a big cornice into big untouched powder to start off
the day. Space Station loved it. Lap after lap at the little old ski area.
It was a powder day and everybody loved it. Missed the Super Bowl without
an ounce of regret.Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.

In time this pow day will meld into a thousand others and as you sit grizzled in your rocking chair, your strangely large-footed grandchildren padding up and down on the verandah, you'll come to regret the moment when you'll be stuck for an answer when one of them pipes up...Originally posted on behalf of Duph

I've had Berthoud on the brain lately. Lemme know the next time you head that way. Or A basin, if you want to go inbounds. I skied over there the other day and Pali is pretty nice.

So anyways, are you guys going to East Vail this Friday? How bad do you think I'd have to suck up to get towed on Vail Pass by somebody's new ride?
Really more interested in East Vail, but what do I know?

figured i'd best pay some dues to e-friends and keep in contact. plus, gotta submit resumes online so had to find net access somewhere. odd, i was certain i'd clicked on the Adams County public educ. homepage link but whaddya know, the link misdirected my valiant efforts at full time employment and took me to this page. damned web programmers. . .
anyway, about berthoud or A-basin: Kewl. I'll ring ya in a couple days for this saturday or sunday. berthoud's a little scary lately but we'll see. pack's horrible.scroll to "Buy DVD", very bottom of page http://bhandf.com/bhandf%202008/longform.htm I do not work for Bill, just dig his work.

02-16-2004, 05:58 PM #14Yeah, I know. My Valentine's Day fiasco included driving up to Hahn's Peak, skinning up 500 feet, digging a pit and then backing down and skiing low angle glades. Why didn't I ski with my friends at Snowmass?Originally posted by Telekóptero

So, even the Steamboat area has succumbed. Our pit had about 18" of newer snow on top of a very slidey 2" layer of surface hoar. Fortunately there was no significant depth hoar and no slab layers. A little time should work it out. What did you see at Berthoud?Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
