Super Duper Secret Salomon Fatty
I was at the loveland boot day on Saturday, and was talking to the Salomon rep. I asked him if they were gonna come out with a big fatty. He said something like, "Like the pontoon". He said he'd have to kill me if he said anymore.
I'd like to see him try.

The big mountain fatty is a go. The twin is on hold. Both still in proto stages.
The big mountain has rocker, is called "rocker". It has rocker in the front, flat under foot, and a touch of camber in the tail. I gather a sort of subtle "s" shape. The idea is that a fully rockered ski, like a spat, etc, doesn't give any support in the backseat when hucking monster cliffs. This ski does.
Yes, I had to use an alias to tell you this.I am vile spew of the wretched masses.

I noticed at the MSP show last night here that in the little books they have with athlete profiles they ask about what gear they're on. Dav says, "the new Salomon Rocker fat ski this winter."
ROBOTS ARE EATING MY FACE.

Well, somone who I'm sure is entirely different than mugatu (alkasqualik) once said this in the "Whats THE ski for next year" thread. (started this past summer, talking about what is now, this season)
"200cm+
110mm+
i've already said too much.
that's it.
no more.
they're fukin slutty."
Sounds to me like some people (alka at least) have seen the protos. I was hoping for the team 205 superfat ak rockets to be production, but this sounds like something different. What mugatu said. along with alkas hint that they are 200cm+ makes me think its like the ehp193, just a good deal bigger. The 195 Aks do have a slightly rockered tail and an elogated tip, with the rest of the ski slightly cambered, so maybe the team version is just the same idea, but exagerated?
I guess its all just speculation, but these sound like they might be the exact ski I would custom build for myself if I could.
Sorry if I'm getting you in trouble by reposting this alka, and I really appreiciate you bending the rules to give us a little hint. I'll delete this post if you want.
Can anyone, alias or otherwise, give me a hint as to when these will be coming out? This season, or next maybe?__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________

Any word on the core? I'm sick of salomons becoming wet noodles after a few years........

There are two protos. One pair of which I have and have skied on throughout the last month of last season. They're the ones which I spoke of previously.
The 'Rockers' are totally different. Similar to what's been posted above, but there are some very interesting twists on them that I've never ever seen in a pair of skis before. And it's not robots or spaceframes, it has to do with the tail and it's 3 dimensional shape. I can't say much, because I don't know much besides the one picture I saw. And even then they might not go into production. So....the speculation will continue.
and yes, the core will be made of liquid-hot-magma because that's the most core shit in the world right there. And being core is all what it is about boyeeeee!
