When CR and Tanner were up at Baker for that epic storm cycle a few weeks ago CR was just riding the 1080 Gun Labs while Tanner was on some ARGs. I imagine if Salomon had some prototype pow ski they'd have their skiers out there testing it... Just my $.02

Remember that Alka said that they only made two (or was it three) proto pairs. Quite possibly, both were out of commission or in others' hands at the time. I wouldn't read too much into that.

so now skiing is trying to imitate surfing. It could work, but would require tons of testing and probably very specific snow conditions.

Also I doubt that CR is the first one to test Salomon's big mountain prototypes. "Yes" he is a good skier, but testing AK style skis is not why Salomon keeps him on staff....

Actually, testing was done last season and a bit in chile this summer.
So far I know of three different proto's, one i have, and two have been hinted at in this thread. I'm not going to speak more, because I don't want another ripping by dav
AND, I'm not sure what they're going to be producing, neither do many of the solly employees here in the US. As someone mentioned, France is the home of Salomon and most of the decisions are made in France and eventually filter down to us. In the mean time, let the speculation continue.......
Oh and CR is still repping Salomon, btw.
(prof- mine are bigger that 2m)

I'm semi kidding, i just think it sounds like a sweet ski. you wouldn't say no to buying a pair of the proto 197 gotamas, would you. If they're sick as shit, and they ever wind up for sale, I think it sounds like a sick ski to add to the quiver, thats all.
