Thread: 05/06 head mojo 90... topsheet durability

so im reasonably careful with these skis, and i dont care what the topsheet looks like really, but ive had maybe 30 days on them, and ill be damned if i think theyll last another 30 without ALOT of the topsheet coming off.... thankfully the topsheet looks to be purely cosmetic.

anyone else having these issues? ive been glueing them with epoxy up to try and keep them together. wondering if its worth calling a dealer/head about it?

My friend's got a pair too and has has very big problems of delaming...like a 5x5 cm of topsheet came off..i tried to convince him to send them back but he didn't wanna do that..i think you should try to send them back for warranty.

well, emailed the local importer with a sob story... not holding my hopes very high but its worth a shot... hmmm i should probably have included pictures. oh well. *crosses fingers*

Haven't had a problem, will watch carefully now.

I lost an approximately 2 inch long, narrow strip of the topsheet off the back of one of my Mojo 90s right along the edge. With the long tails on these skis and all the walking I did on them, the tails got crossed up a lot and it just shaved the topsheet in this one spot. Otherwise the topsheets appear to be bomber, they've taken a fair amount of abuse and still look pretty good.

I havent had two much problems with mine. I have one 3mm wide by 10mm long peice gone from the top corner of one and one dime sized on tails, both epoxy filled and fine. Mine have been pretty good to me so far, and Ive really beat the crap out of them by hitting limbs under the pow. Heads are know to be some of the most bombproof out there.

I've got the MadTrix Mojo and haven't had any problems with the snakeskin topsheet.

thats why i bought them! these certainly are on the bottom, but they must have forgotten something with this pair... the topsheets are pretty screwy.

I got an email back from the supplier saying they are willing to take a look so now I just have to go without my skis for a while ... still maybe ill get an 06/07 pair...

Hello, I need some helpful info... I just got a sweet deal on a pair of Mojo 90 176's that I could not pass on. I would like to get some feedback on those that skied them last year- as far as binding set up and what I might expect.
I'm 29 yrs. old 5'11 150 lbs. and consider myself a very good agressive skier. I kinda was away from skiing for a while due to school and bad location, but am getting the fever once again. Thanks

One main thing I will emphasize about mounting them is to NOT mount forward from their line. Either stay on the line or go back from it, but not forward. Trust me you'll be a lot happier with them in the powder.

I concur. If I were doing it again, I think I'd mount a bit back from the line. Altho if it's not really a pow ski for you, then on the line is probably fine.

Cool, thanks for the info. I have never skied a ski this short so I'm a bit nervous towards how they will react, but hell they look like fun. I definitely will set them back -2 or so.

They definetly are a short ski and your choice to mount back is a good one. I remember when I measured the ski myself, its came to about 173-174 or so, unlike the listed 176 due to the fact that Head measures the tips.
