sick. I think so. Was that lower down the cliff band from the Hanging Valley? One of our later runs?

Awesome pics guys. Man it's been almost 20 years since I used to spend my days off up there with Clay Wells and George. H-Valley. Cirque, AMF, trees off of Radars. Snif snif.
Glad you guys got to hit it when the conditions were great. If you ever get the chance. When you ski Ajax. Take Ruthies down to where it goes over to the entrance to Aztek (aka America's Downhill). There used to be a Patrol sled storage hut right at the top. If you go behind it about 30 yards the trees are spaced great, and it takes you almost right to the bridge along the road back. 1/4 the way down is a small band of cliffs (12' is the highest). But snow just gets sucked in there because the storms hit Ajax right there. (Make sure patrol has done avi clearence before you do. it can load up on Shadow to skiers right which will fall on both sides of that ridge). Did any of you get a chance to hike to the back side of Snowmass at all?

Lovely pics.
And timely too - it's got me excited about skiing at Snowmass again. Organization fell apart for today (my bad), but we'll be there tomorrow. I heard that a lot more Pali terrain is open now, so I think I'll go and take a look at that today instead.
edit - since the hut trip my boots are, um, somewhat ripe. What to do? Lysol? Spray deoderant? Clean socks?Last edited by SheRa; 01-29-2004 at 07:16 AM.

I know both of those guys as well. I would probably know you too, if I saw your picture. I was actually the first civillian to ski the wall in 82 or 83.

I was amazed at how light and fluffy the powdery snow was and at how the challenge never ended.

Question. Why Snowmilk, I mean Buttermass?
Isn't Ajax and Highlandz much, MUCH, cooler, better, steeper, fun-ner?
just wonderin' . . . haven't skied Snowmass in 10 years
