So i did a search for info about tua skis. I didn't find much so I thought i would ask here.

seems like a really nice tele ski, but would like to open the issue to disscussion.

Well, they've been out of business for about 5 years. The Crossride series they had was very popular at the time but I'd say that they would fall into the long and skinny catigory these days. Try telemarktips.com for more info.

They tended to be soft or very soft, mellow-flexing skis. If you like that they might suit you; if you like a stiffer ski that you can hammer then you would probably break them or wear them to shot fast. Pretty light generally, could be a good bet if you want a lightweight (and therefore not fat) touring ski. Should be very cheap as the company did go bust so any skis have been hanging around a while, although I think it was only 2 years ago.

skis are skis, they don't care if you tele on them, AT on them, or downhill on them, So don't just look at "tele" skis to tele on.

Tua was a bit behind at the time (like a lot of tele companies where) so like otheres have said, they are long and skinny now. If you want to go for walks with a few turns they might be nice, or if they are shorter might be OK for hardpack.

overall to ski on by todays standards, not worth it.

I had a pair of 192 Tua Mitos back in the day (still do somewhere). They were crazy light compared to the 203 Atomic Arcs I had been skiing on, but they simply did not rip or handle hardpack very well.

Once I got a pair of volkl snow rangers I think I skied the Tuas about once. They're simply not fast skis. If I was doing some long tours for mellow turns in corn I would probably think about busting them out, but at the moment they're gathering dust.

For $50 that's a fine ski to learn how to tele on. Just keep 'em away from real hardpack or ice. They'll even do fine off-piste, provided the snow isn't too heavy or chunky. You probably won't hurt yourself, you won't be going fast enough to do that. Once you move past the beginner/intermediate stage you'll want some better skis though.

The Excalibur Mito was a great ski. God how I loved those... I remember that the only ski that I wanted more at the time was the Evolution Wide Glide.

I actually got my paws on a pair of the Bubba (93 mm waist) that came out the same fall they went out of business, and skied them for two seasons. Not a bad fat ski at all, it had a Salomonesque feel to it without being too soft.

Yes you can. Depending on the model, they are worth about $25 bucks.
