    Need some positive vibes here...

In the grand sceme of things this is prolly pretty small but it's big to our family so it would be cool to get a little positive Karma rollin' this way. We bought a lab pup last weekend. She's named Roxy and is a great little pup. She started throwing up on sat night and wasn't feelin' good. We took care of her and she started to perk up sunday. Sunday night she threw up again in the middle of the night. We took her in mon morn to the vet. He didn't think anything was wrong w/ her. Thought maybe a flu or stomach problems, no big deal. He tested her this morning and she's tested positive for parvo. She's a fighter but don't know if she can kick this thing. I know its small but your thoughts for out little pup would help. Thanks all.

Damn, I lost a pup to parvo many years ago. You got Roxy to the vet quickly and that can save her. My best to the little gal.

    Get well Roxy!

Many of us here know a sick pet is not a 'small thing.' Pets are members of the family. Keep the faith 1080.

Parvo not good. Sending good will your way. In the meantime I would be calling the person that sold you the pup cuz that ain't right. Any decent breeder tests for that.

Most breeders vaccinate for it but nothing is certain.

Trivia: The canine parvovirus is a man made virus that originated in a bad batch of feline distemper vaccine (feline distemper is also a parvovirus).

Good luck with your pup 1080rider.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

Best of luck to the 1080 rider family, and to Roxy the pooch...
I went out there in search of experience. To taste, and to touch, and to feel as much as a man can, before he repents.

Thanks all. We'll know more this afternoon, her white blood cell count will come in. We've contacted the breeder and she's agreed to either give us our $$$ back or two pups in return. Needed a little arm twisting (remind me not to mess w/ my wife, man she's pretty tough when she wants to be). It'll be rough if we have to put her down, but at least we'll have a couple other pups so hopefully our kids won't get too down about it. Hopefully she'll kick it and we won't have to bother.

    :-(

    positive waves, man. positive waves...

our pup had a parvo-like virus when he was very young. it wasn't parvo (he tested negative), but was something similar and nasty. a round of antibiotics and vet care eventually cured him and he's 2+ years old now. aside from not being able to stomach things like hot dogs or beef bones now, he's fine and healthy...
to all my friends, it's not the end
the earth has not swallowed me yet
