That was a good band even if Terry couldn't catch cigarettes on a reliable basis I'm thinking.

...and, 40 years later....same tune... rocking the fuck out, it's Terry's new NRBQ. This just reinforces the idea that Terry has always been the heart of the matter. But this kid on guitar is seriously killing it, check it out.

    I can see it.

So Terry (piano) was pretty much the only white guy that Sun Ra ever liked. And he invited Terry up to his New York apartment one time back around 1970 or so, and gave him a couple tunes.

    This is one of them:

The other one was "Love in Outer Space" but youtube is failing me on that one. Sun Ra recorded it and it's on youtube. I can't find an NRBQ version, but it definitely exists.

Yer drinking hard again, am I right? Multiple bumps for a slightly better than average, bar band.
Do tell? Brown liquid or the clear?

    NRBQ

I grew up in Western Mass, all too familiar with the Q.
Glorified bar band, whatever works for you. I get it.

You don't, but I don't have a problem with it. Most people don't. Hence this thread. The band was a lot better than you think. But think what you want, I'm really not worried about what you think about anything.

Saw the Q at a lot of the typical spots (Toad's, Lupo's, Shaboo, Iron Horse, The Muse, etc). Great band but no Paul Revere and the Riders

NRBQ were the opening act at UMass Spring Break Carnival (1981) so they went on stage (11:00 AM) dressed in pyjamas. That's when I knew I liked them. For the record, Bonnie Raitt recorded both "Me & The Boys", and "Green Light" for her album Green Light. Several cuts from God Bless Us All - Live at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel help to make Peek-A-Boo the best compilation album (double) if you're looking for a one-stop shop. From what I've read here a lot of you guys can relate to one of my favorites "She Got the House"

This one goes out to Buttah. Dig it my man.

...one of the very few bands to make regular appearances in the Granite State, you should love them. And you will, sooner or later, when I keep bumping this thread for the next 20-30 years.

I liked them for like four weeks in 1983, I was trying to bone this hot Jewish girl, who was into them. The only song I actually like is the one they sing with Skeeter Davis, love her voice. You know the one?

They actually did a few together, I'm not sure which one you mean. Maybe this one?

    I honestly prefer this one:

Terry's piano has so much tone, I don't mind Joey's kinda boring vocal. I find Skeeter's voice a little thin for the song but wutevs, you like an NRBQ tune, I'm pleased.

Youtube stepped up and started playing this gem of a tune while I was typing that^^. Thank you youtube.
