    need some new hip-hop suggestions

I've already got ton of J-5, Blackalicious, 2 skinny js, etc.

What are you listening to that you just have to turn up every time it comes on? All suggestions welcome infact, as long as it gets you pumped.

I assume that you are already in tune with Swollen Members?

Anyhoo, Swollen. Black Eye Peas, Cypress Hill is always fun, IAM (thanks dude_le) I may not know what they are saying all the time, but damn those dudes can flow.

edit - and of course Talib Kweli and Mos Def or the combination of both, which would be Blackstar.

Another big vote for Talib Kweli- if you don't have "Reflection Eternal", run (don't walk) to the local shop and git it.

Just got the new Jedi Mind Tricks also- pretty solid.

i think french applies well to rap, the variety of words with similar meanings makes it real nice and the sounds makes it real flow-y

by iam check out the cd its called

l'école du micro d'argent - silver mike school

its one of their classic, its what got the band recognize. they have a song they do with method man and redman its called

    la saga

some of the members of iam have gone on their own check out
    akhenatone

some other mellow french rap check out Doc Gynéco. He is a bit more main core but has some really nice beats and lyrics
check out the cd called liaisons dangeureuses cool songs are

    dans ma ruche
l'homme qui ne valait pas dix centimes
    and
hexagone (great critic on the french culture)

from the t-dot, in english check out a nice rapper called DL ICOGNITO his song that got the most attention called rugged and raw

for some french canadian hip hop check out Sans Pression their new song pas le choix de foncer is pretty sweet...

    should keep ya busy....

    Atmosphere -- Seven's Travels

Can't recommend this album enough. Straight up hip-hop with no bling-bling. The MC (Slug) is completely relatable and Ant finally got his beats together for this album.

Mr. Lif is awesome, I also really like Fugees/Wyclef/Lauryn Hill. Cant go wrong with Outkast or the Roots either. Pretty main stream stuff, but good.

Quannum Records: Lyrics Born or LifeSavas
Rhymesayers Entertainment: Brother Ali or Atmosphere

There is a DVD that came out this fall called The Battle for LA (not RATM related) that is all underground freestyle battlings and it rules. Check out the quicktime previews at apple.com and order it from Best Buy (exclusive distribution).

Aesop Rock, Talib Kewli FOR SURE, and if you are downloading from kazaa there is a Ozo Matli/J5 collaboration called O le le that is soooo good. Pep Love, also of Heirogliphycs(or however the hell you spell it) isn't bad either...
