The SLC Mini February 5-10, 2003– A Must Read for anyone coming to this event!!

Altachic and Buzzworthy have gotten this together for your pleasure and for the pure fact of being in the "know" of what's going on, where we'll be, when and some of the events that we're looking forward to.

Thursday Feb. 5th-a handful of maggots get into town, some of us will be skiing Alta and the Bird. Party at MacDaddy's in Sandy.

Friday Feb 6th-a fistful of maggots arrive. Some will be skiing the bird and others Alta.* We will ALL be meeting at Goldminers at the base of Wildcat at the end of the day...meaning you can find all of us there by 4:30-4:45pm. (Buzz may be there earlier). We'll be upstairs at the bar or outside shootin' the shit after skiing High Boy with Xover. PMGEARUSA.COM and TETON GRAVITY RESEARCH has generously kicked in some Schwagg to raffle at GMD on Friday the 6th, so be there is you want to get your hand on their goods. Grand prize being a pair of bomber Arno Adam ProPoles!!!

***We then head to casa de Frozenwater for some good times, drunkeness, craziness, maybe even some nakedness.*** You can head up to GT's later that night or make your way up to Snowbasin the next morning. I'm assuming most will head up Saturday morning, as there will be lots o' drinks to be had at the party. Make sure you all have an idea of how you will get there, meaning who are you riding with and please make sure you have directions. Make sure you have blankets/sleeping bags too, as we are rounding up as much warmth as we can. Any Utards who can help offer blankets/Bags, please bring em Friday with you to the mountain.

Everyone is welcome to stay with GT and MOM (Mom of Meats) on Friday and Saturday nights if you do not have a place. Please be respectful, you may drink, but GT and MOM won't tolerate "drunkeness", 'nuff said. There is a Howard Johnson and a few other hotels right around, so if you plan to party hard, we suggest bucking up.

Saturday Feb 7th- Snowbasin. After which we are (hopefully, but not at all for sure) in the works of getting a band together for us at the bar. You can stay at the bar for après ski or do whatever you feel. Back to GT's for the night or wherever you may end up.

Sunday Feb 8th-Snowbasin. And whatever else is in store for us.
Make sure you all have a ride back down to LCC to ski Alta Monday. A bunch of maggots leave this night, makes me sad. But I will enjoy a nice hot tub at an undisclosed location.

Monday Feb 9th-We'll all ski Alta, well, most of us anyway. Followed by some après ski wherever and more maggots leave.

ADDITION: : CS and Telephil are doing a backcountry tour the Monday morning of the Mini, very early probably, they have invited a few others, very non-chalant invites, but invites nonetheless. They will be finishing around noon. We'll most likely do Superior, conditions permitting; maybe something else or nothing at all conditions not permitting. Just wanted to let you know in case others may want to join. BTW,
Superior is the big ass peak across the street from Snowbird/Alta. It'll be a few hour skin/hike, then of course, as backcountry goes, a 15 minute slide. It'll be a good time. Of course, it is avie conditions permitting. Contact Telephil for details.

Tuesday Feb 10th-most everyone has taken off, but the rest of us will ski Alta/Bird.

I am working on getting stickers. I will be fronting for these and I do ask that you please help with me getting my money back. Thanks in advance.

If we do not have your email address, please send it to Buzz and Altachic. Buzz has a lot of you in his address book and will send out directions to GT’s soon. Otherwise PM me, but I prefer to send a blanket email once I get the directions together. Stay tuned in the next week or so.

BRING RADIOS if you have them!! Channel 5-13 is the official channel. For a back up if too much traffic, 4-19!!

Cell phones are a damn good idea too!!

Discount Tickets: Alta said no. Snowbasin we are still holding our breath. Snowbird told me no too. So we are looking at the sport shops for a few bucks off.

Let Buzz or Altachic know if you still need transportation to GT40's and back to LCC. Hopefully the Utards are more than willing to help out with this. If you can, rent a car. That will be most helpful to get you where you need to go. Find a bunch of you and get it together, or call canyon transportation to get yourself from the airport to Alta on Friday so we can all meet at Goldminers. Thanks all, look forward to meeting you.
Should I bring my truck with topper to carry up 2 more people and lots of equipment to GT’s Friday night or the Jeep with Rack and hold a little bit of gear and 4 people? I’m thinking the truck may be a better option.

Also, discount tix for 'Basin can be had at Alpine Sports on Harrison in Ogden. Smiths doesn't sell tix for Basin anymore. Anyone need lodging info in downtown Ogden (twenty minutes from Basin and reasonable) PM me.

Lastly, if there is enough interest in PowMow, or skinning James Peak on Sat, if conditions merit, I'd be up to tour guiding. Mo' betta is definately watching the boys toss themselves off large rocks at the 'Basin (flyk...no more ragdolling this year) and gyrate wildly while airborne, but the other place is fun when conditions are good.

anybody want to go in on splitting a rental car to make things easier? I'm stayin at LCC's (thanks buddeh!), I have no idea where that is but I'm willing to haul people around SLC.

After looking at the southwest web site it occurs to me that with a hugeback pack, sleeping bag and boot bag I should probably just rent some skis while I'm out there. Any suggestions for solid places to rent some sticks or should I just go day to day by which ever mountain we are at?

A dream come true? My flight is supposed to arrive from L.A. at 9:30 a.m. on the 6th. I figured by the time I get my bags and stuff it'd probably be 10:30. I was just going to take a shuttle to our hotel (the BW) in Sandy - I found one for $17 each way. Then I'd just hop on the LCC shuttle and get in a half day.

What time does your flight come in? From where?

Are they on the UTA bus line from downtown?

I work for the Deep Powder House. We have a shop right at Goldminer's Daughter at the base of Wildcat. On Friday I work 8-6. I get one hour off to ski. If anyone wants to demo a new ski I can hook you up for considerably less than our $40 a day price. My name is Drew, I will be the youngest fucker in there.
