Kings Peak?
Howdy Yall,
My friend and I are planning a trip this summer (first week of July) to climb kings peak. I have been doing some basic research on the routes, and I just have some questions...
Snow? I understand it's cold enough to snow on us, but will the peak be covered, and if so, will booting it and skiing it probally be the right idea?
And really...Has anyone done this? Is it worth the hike in?
Not only does it sound like fun to hike Utah's highest peak, but it also is just out there. The peaks look pretty crazy, and the terrain apears to be pretty cool. Anyways, beta...anyone...

Powstash has skied part of it, I think in winter conditions. PM him.
Otherwise, check out Wasatch Mountain Club website. They ski it every winter, in a day.
I can't speak for Kings Peak specifically, but the Uintas typically are pretty dry mid July.

yeah, the clouds of mosquitos around your head generally block any of the rain from getting through.

(edit: just stay above the freezing line and that won't be a problem. I have been snowed on at all months of the year in the Uintas)
