Looks like good time wuz had.

We have many beer/music fest events up coming but I am getting burnt on them. I would rather go to and put forth effort into small tastings and impromptu get to gethers.

Me beer time is moar importanter although perusing drunk chicks is phunnish.

    Home Brew Maggots

Sipping on my first brew right now. Tried a Trillum Fort Point Galaxy clone. 2-row, White Wheat, Carapils, Patagonia C15. WlP007. Bittered with Columbus, whirlpooled mostly Columbus with a touch of Galaxy. 4oz Galaxy dry hop at Day6. Built my water up from RO focusing on higher CL levels. Force carbed it Thursday night and set it at serving pressure yesterday AM. Was a little raw at first but seems to keep getting better. 16 days from brew day today.

Recipe was based on 75% efficiency but somehow managed 90% my first try (milled my own grains) so alcohol ended up a little high (closer to 7 than 6). I should have bumped the IBUs but didn't think of it at the time.

Fired up on my new hobby! For my first attempt I think it came out alright. Interested to see how it evolves. Smells like juice, looks like juice and the mouthfeel is pretty soft.

Congrats, wb. Remember that cleanliness and sanitation is the most important skill a brewer incorporates into their process.

Yup for sure... Only "mistake" I made in that regard was not sanitizing my transfer line from fermentor to keg but I don't think it had any negative effects.

Is there any problem in letting Star San sit for a while In kegs or anything else SS?

After I rinse and clean my kegs, I put star san in them and let them sit until I fill them next time.

Oh and it turns out I tied for 8th place out of 50+ brewers at the comp. Since it was a 'people's choice', I wonder how I would have done it I hadn't run out of beer more than an hour before it ended.

Nice. I need to get a burner setup like that. I just have two coolers, no direct fired mash tun
After a 8 month hiatus I returned to brewing this week. I bought a 7 deadly Cs kit from more beer. I'll update as it goes

I have a triple burner stand but never use the mash tun unit, instead i have an electric heater and controller for use in keeping the mash temps in line. Well worth the inveztment IMHO.

I'd recommend individual burners instead of the double or triple as it provides more flexibility.

Brewed my first batch in about 8 months yesterday, 7 deadly C's all grain kit from more beer. Missed my og by ten points, 1.060 instead of 1.070. Not sure what happened. Oh well, looks like a session iPA

No big deal. Decent attenuation should get you around 6%-6.5%
If you want it higher, you could dilute some table sugar or dextrose into some hot water, cool it then add within 48 hrs of brewing.

That's a good buddy. Is that stand custom or from a plan?
