    Uber thrilled......learning stuff.....Moab....

.....learned how to true a wheel last night, did both my wheels on my own after that lesson too! SaWEET! Learned how to adjust the limits on derailleurs, tighten cables, adjust tension, properly clean cassettes, and a couple other tuning items I'd always had to rely on shops / friends / etc. to do. So stoked for the bike season! Another success: my ghetto stans setup is still solid. (Thanks Mr. AG!!!) Leaked air over the winter in storage (poor bike, so neglected), but popped right up and held air when I filled them last night. Sweetness!

.....also thrilled at the upcoming Moab trip, next weekend (April 27 - 30). For those of you going to the big bash Saturday night, maybe come down to Moab Friday and ride, ride sat morning, then take off Sat afternoon back to SLC to hit the party.

Speaking of Moab next weekend, who's coming? I have somewhat a list of names, but just wondering....

Camping - that is the question, no? Not entirely sure yet. Suggestions? That place the AGs took us was super great, but then, camping at Slickrock is convenient as well.

Also, Brettf, planning on CERTAINLY riding Porcupine, hopefully Koko/UPS/LPS are dry and ready - heard they are but not certain. Yummy.....

Nice. Glad you can do more work on bikes now Yentna. As for Moab. Kabuki and I will be rolling in late Thursday. I have heard of a few others heading down.

Thanks fondigley, i'm stoked to be at least a bit more independent on the repair front. Grin.

We'll be leaving Thursday as well, any plans on campground?

Yentna, we were wondering the same thing. We were figuring Slick Rock, but didn't want to be the assholes rolling in, in the middle of the night looking for a spot spotlighting everyones campsite. It sounds like we will have a decent size group, so a large campsite would be ideal if everyone wants to camp together. So I am suggesting the first people able to get there, grab the site and inform the others. What ya think?

Good idea. Ski Monkey and I'll prowl around when we get there and get a site, then let you know. PM me #s and I'll call folks, or can update this thread if I get to Slickrock Cafe. Or both.

And Moab is so EVERY weekend!

Word! Well at least until the temperatures are unbearable.

Sounds like a good plan. Do you know if anyone else plans on getting there Thursday night?

A big slickrock campground, or two next to each other if possible, sounds good to me. Can't say right now what time we'll be leaving on Thursday. Hopefully no later than 7.

Go with Coyote shuttles...they have big vans, are more popular, and much more reasonable. We tried Roadrunner and they were both ghetto and too $$$$.

Might be shuttling Kokopelli Down next weekend... not 100% sure yet though.

On another note, for those keeping score, UPS = way dry this weekend... very nice.

And yes... Moab was fuggin' hot this weekend.

utsnowgirl and I will be coming down on Friday morning. Currently planning on camping up at slickrock unless it's windy as hell. We'll be doing more XC oriented rides though. Not sure yet whether I'll even bring the big bike. I'm nursing a back injury. Temptation could be bad and I really can't pull up very hard on the bars right now.

My bad, Bags told me you were rolling down, I just assumed Friday morning with that punk. But hopefully doesn't mean definitely either. So anyway, I hope to ride with you this trip.

Apparently CS is traveling w/ Telephil again. I'm currently carless, so I'm heading down w/ Borris Friday morning.

fondig, rotorhead's heading down Thursday morning, so I PM'd his number to you.

Well, telephil and the lady do both shave their legs. Thankfully, the similarities end there. But apparently telephil would rather chase around other guys in tight-fitting clothes, so he won't be coming down. Just me and the better other half coming down Thurs night.

And of course I'm also in for a UPS shuttle. On Friday and Saturday. Squeeze in an Amasa and some evening dirt jumps and that'll be a dang good trip.

Oh snap, I wasn't even thinking of those. I guess I'll have to bring a bike for those too. So yeah, 2 shuttles, an XCish ride, and some dirt jumping sounds like an excellent weekend. Oh and I was thinking about bailing after shuttling on Saturday and head to GJ to catch the premier of ROAM and an xc ride in Fruita, but I am sure I could be talked out of that, but it is tempting me.

    Roam sounds like fun, hmmm.

Whoever gets to Moab first on Thursday needs to snag the big campsite at Slickrock. Ski Monkey and I are planning on leaving Thursday morning too, and may be there first, or the AGs. Anyway, whoever wants to camp there or ride / shuttle with us, PM me your number or for my number, or both, and I can be one (prolly of several) contact people.

A couple UPS shuttles, XC, etc., sounds like a sweet weekend. Ahhhh, pumped. Tis the season.....

So the AG's are going as well? Saaawwweeet!

If possible, there are two large campsites next to each other in I believe cluster B (or is it C?) It's the cluster on the right side of the road on the hill above the Slickrock parking lot. Pull into the first entrance, then stay on the road, past the crapper on the right and the road dead ends into a large campsite, with another big'un right next to it. If we could score those we'd have plenty of room for a big posse.

And yentna, did you want to do some climbing? And has skimonkey bought any shoes yet? If your number hasn't changed from last year I believe I still have it.

    Gettin amped for this weekend.......

Yep, we are in and up for multiple UPS rides (although, AG will still be pretty much out for any good riding). I'll probably moto in the evenings and a longer ride on Sunday on the way out (just got the suspension pimped on the WR!). I'm ready for some Moab time. I think the camp cluster is actually "D" but CS's directions are spot on. With the number of people around, we may need both spots. I heard last weekend was so crowded all over Moab that even the cool spot 8 miles out Cane Creek was fully populated. We really have to quite showing everyone the goods down there. More people should kick it in Fruita, that place ROCKS.
