Switzerland Bluebird Powderday – Titlis report and pics

After being back home for almost two weeks it was just the right timing for some more powder. It did snow all day yesterday here in Zurich but not too much in the Alps. Rather unusual and this made the decision not very easy. At 6am I had to decide between Andermatt, Titlis and Lauchernalp. None of them update the snow report so I had to guess. Now I know that Lauchernalp got the most, Andermatt got nothing and Titlis – well you will see the pics.

Heavy fog up to 2200m followed buy bluebird all day long. Moderate powder completion due to once again a serious amount of Swedish guys and some locals. The snow below 2200m turned into real heavy powder after lunch other then that it was a blast. Boot to knee deep on the glacier and about 20 to 25cm lower down. I had to ski down to 1800m every time and you can’t imagine how much I missed the “US/Canadian tree skiing” for that foggy part.

Pics will tell the rest of the story:

Most likely everything below 2200m will be unskiable. Glacier should be ok but untracked only in “Grosses Sulz” and “Kleines Sulz”. I don’t think you should try the “Laub”.

    Have fun!
