EoDM and QotSA are bands that I love conceptually, and really want to love viscerally, but only one or two songs in any given album really hit my gut. The rest seems like filler.

    What am I missing?

I never thought of it that way, but yes, perhaps.

My favorite Kilby-era The Daily Show line was "the Eagles -- the rock band for people who don't like rock music...."

AD, there is nothing like rocking out to a little San Berdoo sunburn while on a road trip.

I guess I am just a fan of Josh Homme (Kyuss, QOTSA, EODM, Desert Sessions) really dig his music and support what he does. At first I thought "Eagles of Death Metal is cool...I guess. Then the more I listened to it the more I was like FKNA THIS FKN ROCKS THE FK OUT OF MY FKN BRAIN!"

I feel like Eagles del Death Metalarrrrrr/Queens etc....just RRROCK in a world of pussy boy band crap rock.

edit: forgot to add that Homme could totally take on entire 6 person emo bands in the octagon by himself. and none of that submissions/kickboxing/street fighting/dark arts of the fujitsu shit, just like, straight up RRRRRRRROCKing them to death!!!!!. making them cry even more than they cry on their albums.

Me too. But I keep waiting for my fandom to take on a more visceral, less intellectual, bent.

Have to say, i second to that.

It is nice to watch the bonus dvd on the lullabies for the paralyzed, where they are in the studio making the album.
    Intresting and captivating stuff.

One more reason to buy the "special editions" of the releases, i guess.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

fuck yeah! love the new album..except that one baby duck song. just can't get into it. maybe it will happen at some point. anyways, with lyrics like "I got the feeling that you want to come over, and when you get here I'll roll you over. I love you baby, you're just nineteen." you know they rock.

You've been sentanced to death by sexy!

pretty good article on them in the Boston Phoenix:

So I'm freelancing in this place with a nice 200 gig jukebox goin', and these guys come up tonight. I like them a lot. They rock, pure and simple.

It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia.

The new album 'Heart On' does not disappoint.

If you like TEODM, you will like this album.

I listened to this for the first time about a month ago thinking that it was actually going to be death metal. Man was I horribly disappointed.

Saw them a couple/3 weeks ago in SLC, and the preshow thing at a local record shop. Boots is one cool motherfucker. The "real" show was really fucking loud, and i had an awesome time, even though i couldnt hear for shit for the next couple days.

EODM = arrival-at-the-hill music of choice.
